AoS 7.00 Beta Test is Coming

Greetings,

I am basically a Protoss base away from completing the terrain aesthetically speaking, and even though it will likely evolve and change a lot over its life like my work on the current map, I'm quite proud of it but most of all I hope you will be too. The import of current AoS data and reorganization of the most important elements to fit the new map won't take long. Our first beta could be held as soon as this upcoming weekend.

The IH scene for the last 2 weeks or so has been quiet, but I know most of you guys are still here. So if you are and you are reading this, I would appreciate if you sign up as a volunteer to test the new map with us and give us your feedback. We will need at least 8 players to confirm their presence so we can have several full games to best gauge the situation. Many tests will likely have to take place before this map will be ready to supplant the public version (after the Masters Tournament).

AoS has always been a community initiative, and your participation will be key to our success.

We'll try to work out a time that works out for most of us, but the current IH timing (7pm-11pm GMT) seems to appeal to most if I am not mistaken so I'll stick to that for now unless someone has objections.

Thank you.

I mean the beta map would be uploaded and you'd be free to play it anytime, it's just easier to get everyone at the same time during the weekend. We probably just starting this weekend, we could still do it anytime after that. Like during the week for example. :)

Either that, or a new beta map titled "AoS7 Beta 1".

The working title of the map currently is AoS 7.00 though to reflect that this is the 7th generation of AoS on SC2, although one could make a case that it is the 8th after Whale, Wrath, and Adam took the wheel.

How is it 7.0 if we are on 3.XXX?

Current AoS is the 6th generation IIRC, regardless of what the patch #ing says. AoS EU has a different numbering too even though it is the same as NA's. Each 'generation' of AoS almost felt like it had its own identity. I personally did not experience all of them. But some of the older members of our community can explain this better than me.

Also a significant number jump from 3.xxx would help establish from the get-go the significant jump we are about to make in this transition. Hence the working title AoS 7.xxx.
