"Among Her Majesty's most recent acquisitions was a retail park in Slough - which encompasses a drive-through McDonalds.

Bath Road Retail Park was purchased this month by the Crown Estate, which administers the monarch's property portfolio, for £92 million.

The site, is also home to a B&Q superstore, and branches of Comet, JJB Sports and Mothercare"

Her estate purchased a retail park, on which McDonalds happens to have a restaurant. So no, she got 99 problems but being a fat beesh ain't one.

EDIT: Noticed 2/5 of the national chains mentioned above are now dead. RIP Comet/JJB.

From the years 1983-2013 the UK overweight percentage went up by 13%, hardly quadrupling. Among western countries the US still has the most obese people by percentage of population by far. Infact I would go onto say if it wasn't for Mexicans the figures would be off the charts.

http://www.theguardi...e-obesity-study

67% of men and 57% of women in the UK are overweight or obese according to the study which uses a Body Mass Index (BMI) of over 25 to define 'overweight' and a BMI of 30 or more to define 'obese'.

http://kff.org/other...rate-by-gender/

America is 70% for men 57% Women.

Obviously im not an expert in the field of Obesity or Statistics for that matter. But a quick Google search shows me that USA and UK are very similar in Obesity / Overweight rates. While yes America still holds the title its a growing epidemic world wide and not just the Stereotypical "murica problem" that you love to post on this forum every time there is any kinda of thread talking about the USA.

Are you salty EU did not have a strong showing at IEM ?

EU players salty enough for you to steal their tears and use them for your chips tonight.

By the way for scientific analysis if you're going to use sources from journalists it is best to use them from one source.

Exhibit A: The Guardian 2014.

Prevalence of obesity and overweight by country

Among people 20 years and older. Prevalence of body-mass index of ≥25 kg/m2
Country

Prevalence 2013 Male

Prevalence 2013 Female

Prevalence 2013 Both Sexes

Change 1980 to 2013 Both Sexes

United Kingdom

67%

57%

62%

13%

United States

71%

62%

66%

16%
That is a comparison of people overweight.

As you said above: 67% of men and 57% of women in the UK are overweight or obese according to the study which uses a Body Mass Index (BMI) of over 25 to define 'overweight' and a BMI of 30 or more to define 'obese'

62% VS 66% does not sound bad. A 4% difference. But again the way these figures are presented hides the truth. The UK and US have similar percentages of population overweight HOWEVER the percentages of population obese are NOT similar (see my graph above).

You see,or should I say what your compatriots here fail to see, an obese person can 'count' as an overweight person in such studies, as they have a BMI of ≥25 kg/m2, these journos are just using bad science here by using a manipulative title: 'Prevalence of obesity and overweight by country'.

I hope you realize what 4% of the adult population of America is, using data from the CIA Factbook I quickly managed to work out that there in 2014 there were an estimated 213,332,730 people ≥25 in America. If the US had the same percentage of people overweight as the UK, that would mean 8,533,309 (rounded down from 8533309.2) less overweight people in Murica. This is an underestimate as I didn't account for the ages 20-24, the data provided only covered ages 15-24.

For reference here is Exhibit B: https://www.cia.gov/...ok/geos/us.html (look under People and Society).

Back to you fatty.

I still think America spread the obesity epidemic through fast food, England in the 1970s didn't have this problem. Now in everyone town I go to there is a McDonalds. Every motorway (highway for you) has one. Every shopping center has one. America ain't just invading countries people, Murica is invading our stomachs.
