ohsfast
[Omega.Starscream] Basic Starter Build So, ss has changed quite a bit recently and I've had to adapt play style significantly. However, to Whale's credit, I actually really like the new req build. So, if you're looking for somewhere to start, start there. Also, take this with a grain of salt and feel free to critique (I'd love to try out new builds - that make sense) cause I don't really know what I'm doing. Again, I mostly follow the req build so these will already be there: Items: Eye of Narud - extra weapon dmg/speed to help farm + observer helps prevent early game ganks Energy Saber - this will solve our energy problems and allow Q & W to be used pretty much as often as possible Naix Claw - weapon dmg buffs both the aa and Q, plus the life steal will pretty much give you full life in a battle with one Q Galactic Defender - more weapon dmg + more shield buff Xenomorph Cleaver - more weapon dmg *this is where I deviate from the reqs, SS is still way too squishy at this point Darksteel Titan - strength + armor + incoming dmg reduction (sell eye of narud) Organic Carapace - more strength + health 2 alts to the final item could be: Contamination Shard - if you still need a little more punch as well as health Darwin's Might - if you'd prefer to stay alive via lifesteal rather than static health *I may also sell energy saber and get one of these if the game goes that long Edited January 27, 2015 by ohsfast HawKeYe
taznkid
Coat of Arms, in terms of stats, provide everything Eye of Narud and Energy Saber would give, but better. I personally would highly suggest the typical Arcbound Ravager/Khali Blade combo, as Tactical Missiles proc Crits. Darksteel Titan is usually not needed unless the enemy team is VERY auto attack heavy, as Defensive Talents plus Contamination Shard are plenty enough to give health. Why in the world you didn't include Atom Smasher and Force of Entropy as even alt items I don't know; Q procs Force of Entropy, and Atom Smasher is good on nearly any hero in the game, but especially on Strength heroes. Although highly dependent on enemy composition, my end game build ideally looks like this: Arcbound Ravager Khali Blade Contamination Shard Xenomorphic Cleaver Force of Entropy Atom Smasher/Organic Carapace Easily plenty of weapon damage, weapon speed, over 50% resist, and around 4000 health. I just wish Ultimate would do something useful. Edited January 27, 2015 by taznkid HawKeYe

If it does still have crit, then I will certainly change my build. Testing that tonight. idk, never tried Atom, but seems pricey for what it offers. Force seems worth it for the price, but lackluster I already have tons of slow by endgame. me too ... me. too.

As for Atom, Starscream is a pretty good farmer so it shouldn't be a problem, not to mention that Starscream can basically spam that unique. taznkid
buckler pyre lethal foe coa shinobi and sell buckler get sliptide and gg Seems like a pub build >_> Agility items on a Strength hero seems....weird to me. If you want more weapon speed/movement, just get Arcbound. If you want Spell Resist, just get Contamination Shard. As for why people use Lethal (except on, maybe like Boros, since his ultimate more or less provides invincibility), I don't know. Maybe you guys know something I don't, but I'm not op enough that I'm willing to risk taking that extra damage to get weapon speed and damage. ohsfast
buckler pyre lethal foe coa shinobi and sell buckler get sliptide and gg Played one game last night with this, got lucky it was noobs. sure, gave me decent AA punch and a little extra time in team battles, but major energy shortages even end game and I don't think this would cut it if I had decent opponents. Yeah, from my unofficial testing, it doesnt seem like Q procs crit. However, coa instead of eye and saber isn't too bad though. Been using the following last few games and like it: coa > claw > galactic > cleaver > organic > atom smasher .. still not sure one way or another about atom yet. I'm wondering how your managing not to get insta-pwned with a build like that that has so little resist. Also, Atom should be gotten earlier, or not at all. Atom Smasher's greatest asset is the burst+slow combo that it provides; the 200 Spell Damage it deals is nothing to laugh about in the early-midgame. It's meant to be a snowball-ish item, as the damage is negligent late game, unlike, say, Black Hole Magnum or Star's Fury. It essentially means that, should you engage 1v1, your target cannot escape due to 80% slow. Getting it as a 5th item defeats its purpose. It should be gotten as 4th item as the latest, and Ocelot's Revolver should be gotten very early.

Had to mix it up a bit at the end to spend my 13k mins, but yeah. Only thing is I skipped step 1 and started at 2 *Edit - after a few more tries I've found this build still wont work against op builds such as nova and kerri. Also, still have some energy issues all game. Still going to give it a few more tries and see if I can find a balance.
