The concept of the hero is pretty far out there having 9 casting abilities, but i like how he has this much ability to "support." in doing so he should be supporting his team, not being the int carry on the team. He literally can clear a wave in 3 secs or less, provide timescale/movements, heal, tele, slow.

Just missing a stun because he can buy taser and thats op.

 

This is me just saying 1 character that does everything except for stun is consider in the game as a int carry needs to be looked at

Well yes, Maar is powerful, but there are some factors that I believe "balance" him out:

 

1. Has a relatively higher skill cap than the average hero

2. Sure, he is easy to learn, but is difficult to master and truly bring out full potential

3. If you mess up your orbs even ONCE during a team fight, you are kinda screwed for around 2-3 seconds, which is long enough to decide a fight

4. Sap got nerfed

5. Since taznkid learned this hero, it is one of his favorites; stahp nerfing his favorite heroes.

6. Frost Wave has a cast time, giving some reaction time to dodge, and frankly, if you have decent spell resist and health, it doesn't really do much besides slow you, and the slow isn't really that bad in pubs where people don't really know to capitalize

 

Having said that, I do agree with the sight reduction thing. I think the skill itself should be changed. Add another orb, and make even moar skills :D

Same reason why shadow is op

 

The real power of Shadow lies in the (AoE) lifestealing capabilities that come from the changes to physical damage and the addition of armour penetration (and having the single best (combo-)initiate in the game). The vision reduction helps, but it's not where his 'op-ness' comes from.

 

Back to topic: Maar isn't that OP, else he would be selected every inh and win every midfight/game (which he most definitely is not and does not). Or, of course, he would be auto'd, which he also is not. Please excuse the poor quality of my arguments, it's finals week.. T_T

That's possible because your team can't CC him caused by his sight reduction effect

without that, he won't do much in teamfight

I agree that sight reduction is op, but apart from that MAAR still offers a lot for his team. He's a long range support burst sustain caster carry.

All his power comes from his sight reduction

like you get frost wave'd when you can't even see him.

or miss CCs against him because of sight reduction.

Heal aura seems a little op but i don't think he will be that much strong without his Q

Agree with this. People always focus on his damage abilities, which are strong, but can be dealt with if you know what you're doing.

 

Maar is more easily countered than most people realize. Penthos can get in and out and kill him really fast for one.

 

But, the vision reduction makes it very difficult to target maar while he can sit at range and blast away.
