Moo
Installed it, starting the training thing and it lagged super hard, started a bot game and it lagged super hard and eventually froze and I had to open task manager and shut it down. Help? I tried going to settings and lowered resolution and took off all the advanced effects, it didn't help. I play SC2 and LoL just fine, but Dota blew up my computer. Darkr
Nothing to do with your computer. Nothing to do with settings too high. Reinstall. Don't have chrome open while playing. Monitor your CPU/RAM usage. Monitor your networking.

captcpc
Chrome was open. Closed the window, no more lag. Thank you. What heroes should I try? I tried sniper just now against bots and he seemed meh. Sniper is pretty underwhelming without farm and a team working around him. Juggernautand Phantom Assassin are pretty straightforward carries that are fun to play; the former is basically Boros without Bola and the latter has minimap invisibility like Shadow and a ridiculously long-ranged slow and gapcloser. When you start to play online I'd recommend: Tidehunter, he has an extremely low skill floor and a really satisfying ultimate that wins games, though he's boring in bot games. Ogre Magi, Lion, and Crystal Maiden , arguably the most straightforward supports. Enigmaand Furion to learn the jungle. Anti-Mage, Nevermore, and Meepoto learn map awareness and flash farming once you have everything else down. uh, is there a cow hero in dota 2? Moo
Played sniper vs other people. Went mid, got 2 kills off their drow ranger in a mostly passive lane. Went bot and ksed with ult. Farmed a bunch. Then I looked at the scoreboard and realized they had double out kills, and the drow I had killed twice early was 11-3. a_A We ended up losing badly after a while. I still had more than double the farm of the next highest person though, so I'm happy about that. Sniper feels good if you can avoid getting jumped on, but if you get jumped on you just die. EterNity
Play Earthshaker. He is super fun and a really good support. Start DotA as a support than a carry will give you good habits later on in game. It is harder to play a support well than a carry and it takes a bit more skills as a good support wins the game. You can always play with EU wolf pack if they are playing. I am not sure if the channel "Sotis" is still in use in Dota but I still see the old school sotis players there sometimes. Be sure your "beta" is turned off on Stream opinions. Be sure the Dota client is "finished downloading" everything since you can play the game with only 40% of the game downloaded. (Skins, effects, and a few others things are not required to play the game) In the game itself, type "-ping" in the chat and see your ping. If you can't figure it out, I am on Mumble! Yea I figured it out, I just closed google chrome and I can play now. I'll try earthshaker. I tried some of the heroes reccomended above, none of them really worked out for me. I had a really, really good sniper game 2v4 that we ended up winning. I like sniper.
EterNity
His Q is like Cow's Q with stun His W is like Cow's W with stun His E is like Cow's Eo His Ult, though, is REALLY sanctifying when you hit the entire team.
MrGrim
Playing carry is way easier then playing support, especially in the beginning since you need to stack, pull, ward, harass properly, gank and jungle effectively. Once you get those basics down it's really satisfying playing support. Easy support heroes are lich, abadon, crystal maiden and I guess dazzle. Always carry a tp with any hero you play and you'll do better than a lot of new players.
BestPlayer
Supporting in trash mmr is horrible to play. Stick to playing whatever you want, while you are getting better at the game. Mid is easily the best way to go if you are looking to influence the game at earlier stages, with ganks - but in aforementioned "trash mmr" you won't have wards on rune(s) anyway, so it is a gamble. Add me or other wolfpack gangers, and THEN in stacks with gangers you ought to play support. Diipadaapa
