Wrath
Hi everyone, The development and moderation teams would like to let you know about a new procedure that we have implemented for the moderation of the forums: the Trash Pile. The Trash Pile is a subforum located in The Outskirts that moderators will move unsavory threads to. Because the Trash Pile is so far down the forum list, and does not show up on recent post lists or display updates, moving undesirable threads to it will get them out of the public eye and allow more constructive posts to float to the top. The threads in the Trash Pile will be visible, and can even be posted in. This will allow us to reduce or eliminate the need to lock threads and provide a new level of transparency. Here is an overview of how our moderators will approach judging the appropriate action to take on a thread going forward: Original post broke the rules Action: Warning point or ban, move thread to Trash Pile [*]Original post was good Original poster subsequently broke the rules Action: Warning point or ban, move thread to Trash Pile [*]Other poster(s) subsequently broke the rules Action: Warning point(s) or ban(s), spoiler relevant post(s) with visible warning, do not move thread Please be aware that breaking the rules in a thread in the Trash Pile can still earn you a warning point or ban. We hope you are all happy with this new approach, and welcome any feedback. It may take a little time for our moderators to adjust to the new procedure, so if you find that the procedure has not been followed in a couple of instances in the near future, don't expect that you can get any sympathy by throwing a hissy fit. :)
Hogwarts
I have been asking for a more "open door policy" for a long time. Im glad steps are finally being taken. Wrath
ScrubbaDubNub
I don't exactly comprehend how the trash pile makes things more "open door" unless entire threads were just being hidden before. (They probably were, but I don't care to expend the effort to remember specific examples.) On the other hand, I'm glad to hear potentially offensive material will be spoilered instead of hidden. Noobz
But if you can still be banned or warrant a warning point, kinda seems like a trap on some level and a false sense of open doorness
Wrath
But if you can still be banned or warrant a warning point, kinda seems like a trap on some level and a false sense of open doorness That's a little paranoid. Of course you are still expected to follow the rules.
Noobz
I'm not worried about it, I see no reason to break the rules in general, I can just see how, without locking certain threads, it'll be much easier to get caught up in internet bs. I do like the transparency aspect tho and feel it's a step in a right direction Wrath
Adamantium
Basically when we lock threads we can just cut off a topic without explanation. With this method? Not so much.
KilonBerlin
Hello, as I understoof this is the place for all kind of crap posts?! Because my question is crap, how does it work? Is it for free to play "AoS" or however you call it, what do I need for it? Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm + Legacy of the Void? Since I think they are all stand-alone with a short "what happened"-introduction movie or like in Legacy of the Void a 3 mission pro-log... Thanks for an answer or delete this post if I missunderstood it (my English is not the best) Greetings!
