Hello everyone, this is mb just partly talk about moderation so i think it should be ok to be public, and ill be very short.

So as we know ppl can pay and then get a private channel where they can do w.e.

So i noticed sometimes mods like to make lobbys for ih, which im somewhere ok with. But some mods are all the time making their own channel and even put password on it, and keep that channel most of time they are online.

So are ppl that pay private channels retarded if u can be a mod and make ur channel for free and keep it forever???

What in the worldwide web do you mean? Do You think that locked channels are "retarded"? Mods have the ability to make channels because they are well.. mods, if you are not a mod then I guess you pay.

He's asking what the point of paying for a channel is if you can just be a mod and get it for free.

So you do not have to switch over to your own server when all your AoS friends are in AoS server?

We all know that server only cost $6 to make; however, having a channel is more convenient than getting your own server. Not to mention that it is a way of helping up the community instead of calling people retarded when what they are actually doing is helping the game out.

Im talking about channels in aos server, sry wrong title.

I didnt mean to call them retarded, its just a joke.. I just wanted to point out how stupid it is.

But if most ppl dont mind mods having free private channels with passwords im not the 1 that will stop it, or critize anymore

Okay lets try and explain this a bit better.

Some people donate to help upkeep the mumble servers and the website this donation is very generous and one of the privileges these paying members of the community get is their own private channel in mumble.

In the AoS mumble there are 3 sections:

1. Public: This section is for everyone who wants to use it for free

2. Private: This section is where the donators get their section of the AoS mumble

3. Admin: Kinda obvious

In the public section it is widely regarded as ok for moderators to make channels if and when they are needed for inhouses. These will never have passwords on them and if people are causing trouble well the moderator can deal with that

Now the problem is that SOME of the moderators are using their power to create their own personal private channel with passwords attached not for the benefit of organising inhouses but to have their own personal little section just like the people who donate money. This is obviously unfair as the donators who are doing a good thing and helping provide for ALL of us mumblers have their reward being diminished by certain people. So Zeratul is wondering why would you donate when you could just ask to be a mod instead?

Personally I feel offended I know you guys just troll around don't even care about the community (soed, diipa, Yaldi, etc etc) and CODE you are just sneaky around trying to find I don't know what you don't even speak.

This topic has been lock.

This has actually been discussed recently by myself and EKCO. What we concluded is that, as these channels (such as Highdration Nation) are public and do not afford the player any additional privileges, there is no harm to them.

The private channels afford the player who paid for them additional privileges - I don't know exactly what off the top of my head, but to say the least, they are welcome to restrict who comes and goes.

Edit: Read Yaldi's clarifying post. Any moderator created locked channels wouldn't be acceptable unless they are related to moderation. It will get looked into.
