intel raynor guide please

there hasn't been a raynor guide in a while and im not sure if the last one is still relevant

also, do you guys know what the recommended items try to make you?

i.e. tank, aa, support, etc.

most people agree on getting gravity edge as the second item and lightning rod early

Raynor doesn't need gp10 items lmao

 

He can farm very good solo mid and get ahead by lasthitting very weill

 

I tend to go 2-2-2 weapondmg+speed health+armor cd+ms

 

Items: first pendant to leech energy from hydralisks and enemie hero

Then get powerstone and rod for better lane:hero harras and tankyness

Get ihan next while building energysaber

Complete energysaber and get bhm after, at this point you 2 shot people by mark, aa and silence ( in some cases you need the ulti tho)

Gravity

Yamato

(You can also leave out the enerysaber+bhm thingy and get seeds, fury or nitrogen but with these you do some serious dmg to towers to, + you are not flobed when the 1/3hp shadow reaches you, just mark him)

You don't "need" to

but it's "better" to buy it

1-1-4 is nearly anytime the best talent option ....

overlord talent vs jakk or maar otherwise speed/cd/energy/wealth

 

Pendant might be worth it vs caster that have to aa with <6 range ...

otherwise start with goggles and 2 pots, treasure only if u really need sustain, u can go for rod early if the extra farm is worth it or dial, rod can also be worth it if your enemies lack initiation. dial is also good in order to get mobility and for your ulti, first big item is gravity, always next either seed or yamato.

I've transitioned to using Shard on him now since Dial got the nerf bat. Goggles>Treasure>Gravity>TPI, then either finish yamato or get shard.

Nah minors on raynor are naw, you lack energyregen to make use of the cd + you don't build it into anything most of the times.

 

Treasure is ok, if you want to get warpshard but thats no item you can buy right away without going back to shop after killing 1-2marauders

They are not bad but they delay your dps dmg output(rod) or energy/hp(ihan/pendant) ontop of the int loss for e and ulti untill minute 20-25 where they start paying off

Both are good on him. Symphonic is like 3rd main item on Raynor after Gravity and Yamato, the C/D reduction is amazing. I almost always find Warpshard or LB worth it on Raynor. You can build much more greedy as far as pure damage INt items if you throw in one or both.

Start item : pendant

other viable early items (lost treasure, googles)

 

First item (core) impact dial or twin paradox (raynor benefits the most from first item that gives him int, and helps with positioning and channeling on his spells ->impact or twin. Impact is more early and support oriented. Twin paradox is more greedy and more lategame oriented. Both items will increase efficiety of using your ultimate by a lot) Handling positioning, channeling and mobility? Check

 

Second item (core): gravity (highest dmg increase item for spell dmg) Having strong nukes? Check

 

Third item is most of the time : finishing yamato (tankiness you need at this point and more spelldmg)

 

Other items: symbionic seed, nitrogen, ihan stacks, warpshard, paralax (vs silences, debuffs stuns), starsfury/sunflare (those two items are viable in mid late, but as said you need to put raynor in danger in range)

 

Lighting rod is a fail on raynor. That means that somebody dont know how raynor works.

 

Raynor is a high position depended nuker support.

 

Raynor IS NOT a dps hero (thats why lightrod is bad) for lighting rod You need to be in range of attack, if You are in range of danger as Raynor that means he is played wrong. Raynor can transition to dps later if really needed (mid late- starfury)

 

Talents

1(might) 4(fort) 1(movespeed)

 

Other talent tree that can be viable(also good) is with transport and more in utility

You may say that lightning rod is bad for teamfights, there I agree, but it is great for going greedy in solo lane and lowering peoples hp faster untill you can e+r them

 

Also since he has the highest attackrange, aa is not immpossible In a teamfight and dial is only really needed if you want to be more tanky, go really jackass greedy or have a bad positioning so you have to make quick escapes.

 

Let me put it like this: without dial and a rod instead of it, you have even more op lane harras, but with a dial you get far more effective in ganking/escaping. With rod you also don't get raped everytime a dps charges you headon and your e bugs around

Rod is fine in pubs, i do it sometimes, although rarely. In an IH Gravity is far more important than lane harrass. Yes LR is powerful, but you're not gonna get kills off people that stay in lane too long because everyone knows how much damage raynor does with his combo. It's not worth delaying Gravity edge in an IH.
