SUPERMANA
It was a lot better when u could tell if u had a noob on ur team or not when u were able to view there KDR's in game.
ginosaji
Not gonna happen, too many people were RQing when they saw they had a bad team. Only thing it will do is allow you to feel more justified when you rage at people anyway, doesn't do anything for the game. Mus
Ranking doesn't but kdr's do. Well if you consider two pro players, one who exclusively plays support heroes and one who exclusively plays carries and observe their kdr's then you will see that your idea of kdr measuring skill simply doesn't work. A good support player will leave the last hits to the carry, since the carry needs the kill bounty more. Hence a support player would have a low kdr. A good carry will rely on his support player to feed him kills and end up with a high kdr. By your logic, the carry player is 'pro' and the support player is 'noob'. In reality it's the support players who indirectly carry their team. LZ for instance can give his carry a huge amount if shields which will allow him to stay alive for a long time and net a lot of kills. Without this support, a carry can't do shap. If you consider a noob playing a support hero, he is likely to save his abilities to ks, thus inflating his kdr (and ego). Your logic would say that this guy is superior to the pro support player, who doesn't ks. Yet everybody knows who is better in reality. ginosaji
Me either... there are plenty of games where a completely average kda has won a game. I can't emember who played it, but medic singlehandedly won a game that I play last night.... ok maybe not singlehandly, but definetely was MVP... ended up 4-6-12 or something. Three night ago I played Raynor against a Micro, Tosh, Rory comp and ended up 7-8-13 or something similar. We had alot of CC, but very little HP, so it was mandatory that I land my silence shots. Without them being accurate a majority of the time we would definitely have lost. Same can be said for almost any non-carry/non-tank. Support and even many casters can end up with exceptionally average kda. All that matters is winning the game.
Mus
A true measure of skill is not possible to obtain. Qualitatively, one measures another's skill by looking at things like their positioning, timing of abilities, build order etc. These cannot be measured, certainly not with kdr - i.e given a kdr, the measure of the above skills cannot be obtained. The only thing that will be achieved by displaying player's kdr is that people will flame and rage when they apply their broken logic to those numbers. Ironsights
not sure KDA matters at all. for instance, my kd is only about +100 and my rank is ~1400 but I have considerably more wins than losses and I usually put the hurt on certain shadow-masters quite easily...even though their KDA is superior to mine. But i agree, kdr is a great way to measure skill [/sarcasm] still better then current ranking thou :p if you compare win/loss ( disregarding leaved games) and kdr you can get a pretty good image of wether to or not to "trust" this player when he says 'I'm gonna jungle a bit' When its somth like an average of 4 looses per win and 4 deaths per kill eventhou getting alot of assists :D you can determine it better wheter or not his ganks are going to be succesfull

ONly way to tell if the will be competant in teamfights is to actually team fight. It's simply not worth worrying about anything other than yourself in a pub. Do the job your hero is designed to do, that's all. An ally shows they're incompetant, don't rely on them anymore, simple as that. Some of the best pubstompers I know have above average KDR and average W/L, but they save all their skills and play selfishly, so they're worthless to the team. Apocalyptic
As much as I hated to see stats go I do have to admit the pub scene is MUCH better off since they have been removed. It used to be unheard of to have a 5 vs 5, now its pretty common. I have to give the devs props for this change - I remember it was quite unpopular but they stuck with it and it worked out well. Indo
looking at your teammates is unimportant in a pub, as long as you play a hero that can push thou I barely play pushers in pubs and rather keep using casters/hybrids so I mostly try to persuade my teams shadow to push :c even if he is noob he can be helpfull but some pubers are just to dump to actually hit the tower instead of just walking past it ._.
