TungVu
So I was wondering how many old school Sotis players still left on the forum. Will the real sotis players please stand up?
Adamantium
How old? V3 or earlier?
TungVu
I go back to 1x but I'd say 4x can be considered old school nowadays.
Adamantium
Oh snap. I was here in 4.0 but I didn't know anyone sooooo....
residente
I didn't know anyone or anything about the game, it's when I started doing ihs.
Skydie
Which was the version when Toxi was so imbalanced it must have been done on purpose?
Adamantium
I remember people talking about toxi being broken in 4.0 but I sucked and thus sucked with him. I remember 5.0 though where he was invincible against aa's
Zombieee
Standing up:D
Adamantium
Standing up:D How old are you (sotis-wise)?
John
@ Skydie 4,2 version and he was like that for months, he wasn't just extremely strong, he was the easiest hero ever as people would die chasing you. Literally required 0 skill to do fine with. Probably isn't that many ih ppl around on EU or NA if ur looking for familiar faces.
Jaysi
I also started in 4.0. Just pubbing and playing very badly.
Apocalyptic
I started playing Sotis two days before version 2.0 was released. I still rememver how silly Shadow vortex as a stun was. Tosh Voodoo Well had an epic bug, Cyprus Multi-Shot, Drake long range lance, etc. Wish I could go back and play those old maps for old times sake. atomheartman, residente and captcpc
NoWaterJustIce
V2.0 here, gosh that feels like forever ago
Hanedog
I have been here since 1.X... Man this game has definitely changed... And yeah, it feels like it's been YEARS... probably because it has. I have 'dated' this game long than my wife haha.
heimdallr
since about 1.0 here though I joined the forums much much later (very recently) lol i got hooked up to read this cause of the missleading title xD
Jon
I don´t know what version was, but the first hero i played and liked a lot was drake, wich had the stun and pull that worked very well for inexperienced players like me :)
Skydie
@ Skydie 4,2 version and he was like that for months, he wasn't just extremely strong, he was the easiest hero ever as people would die chasing you. Literally required 0 skill to do fine with. Is it bad that I on my first return to Sotis in 2011 (first attempted ended in 2010 ended in my rqing after less than a handful of games and going to Golem wars/BC/ladder), I was raping buying random items without any knowledge and not even knowing about skills lol. I swear the only competition in pubs at the time was the race to click Toxi :D I forgot how he worked but there was something about him going invisible or w/e. I promptly quit again as a result of Toxi being the only hero I could 'play' (I was raging heroes like Cyprus would 1 hit me but I could never 1 hit anyone) before my glorious return in mid 2012. John
When toxi took damage he would go invis shortly and leave a death cloud behind him, which pretty much killed you if you ran into it trying 2 chase him.
Banzaiguy
Not really sure which version I started but it was probably pretty early. My earliest memories were that there weren't any stats, items had no hotkeys and you sometimes had to click them multiple times for them to work. And bloody toxi had that toggleable slow attack and invisibility passive(no poison cloud though) while you had to click your stupid boundary scanners. atomheartman
I don't remember the exact version of game but I'm from sotis for sure. Before metal and desert terrain. Toxi with invisibility was soooooooo OP. Fun thing that there was so little quantity of heroes and that was enough. Drake with magnitude, LordZ/Zera with Chrono dagger - that was great. Ancientmagicks
Im pretty sure I was playing as soon as sotis hit the arcade, bc I was jonesing for some sc2 moba comming off of wc3 dota and NvB. The old dst was awesome with the little mini marines
Hogwarts
I played when u had a creep tumor to give you energy regen. Cyprus was an aa hero with multi shot. Didn't get on mumble until the 6.0 beta when cain was first introduced
captcpc
Which was the version when Toxi was so imbalanced it must have been done on purpose? Iirc, it was actually a bug fix in 4.2 on his ultimate dealing far less damage than it should have (no scaling or something, I think the same "buff" that was made to Cow). I was here since Garamond summoned a giant Drakken laser drill that covered like a quarter of the map with its range, Zeratul could send people back 5 seconds in time, and Cyprus ran around at light speed with Analyze. I miss those completely over-the-top hero designs.
