true, But you can not deny in the gaming industry women are objectified a lot. And the fuss they made was more so about Dustin's responses not so much the character it self.

I thought that the original interview where he made the controversial responses was about the over-feminizing, which would mean they first made a big deal about the over-feminizing before Dustin made the responses.
