Contamination Shard and Isomorphic Pyre

So when I play auto attack dps heroes, I always get these two items as final build items. However, I feel that Isomorphic Pyre's unique just isn't very useful late game, and could be replaced with something else. That having been said, I like to have max attack speed, but without Isomorphic Pyre, I cannot achieve this. Here is a general final item build as example (I will list two, one for Nova and one for Shadow, since those are the two main auto attack dps that I play, since I am a fairly bad Darpa and Tassadar does not really fit in here):

#1:Timesplitter

Shinobi Style

Isomorphic Pyre

Contamination Shard

Galactic Defender

Khali Blade

#2:Timesplitter

Force of Entropy

Isomorphic Pyre

Khali Blade

Contamination Shard

Galactic Defender

So there are a few things I would like addressed in a reply to this topic:

1. Should I keep Isomorphic Pyre as a endgame item (usually) or not? Is it situational on if I have threatening and/or several enemies with a large health pool?If not, then what should I replace it with to maintain maximum attack speed?

2. Why is Arcbound Ravager useful? What role does it fulfill differently from Phantom Menace?

3. How has your day been?

Thanks beforehand guys.

phantom menace gives 1 move speed if you havent attacked anyone for 10 seconds, apart from that you will be slow

arcbound gives .1 up to 1 movement speed whenever you land a crit (this is better if you cant keep up with your enemy but you are sacrificing spell resist & timescale)

another item to consider is sliptyde scythe which gives movement speed on attack, agility for wep speed & lots of spell resist

pyre is good on high HP targets, i normally buy it as a first wep speed item as you dont know if the enemy may build tanky

late game it can fall off due to so much spell resist, you can counter that buy buying grav edge if you can still maintain your effectiveness

contamination shard

how many auto attacks are you roughly getting off on said tanky targets?

contamination shard starts @ 8% and goes up by 2% every hit to 30% (at max wep speed thats around 12 attacks or 5 seconds which is quite a while)

if you are not getting enough auto attacks off with it i suggest getting a shadowmourne as it will also proc it & apply those 2% stacks faster

khali blade on its own is probably not quite as useful on shadow as the 35% chance isnt high and critical strikes are also mitigated by armour & dont stack with contamination shards true dmg

you may find its more useful to get an item like atom smasher, the repeated amount of slowing it has is ridiculous & it makes you more tanky (btw it slows wep speeds etc as well, not just movement speed)

Pyre is good, but maybe Khali/Arcbound combo deals more damage.

Also i noticed that you CAN have max AS without any speed booster. Build like BHM, Saber, Shinoby, GD, Khali and Eternity(or something else) grants you almost maxed AS.

Tassadar without StarsFury is very strange.

1.As said before - feel free to buy Pyre but if you see Korhal or SpellBuffer - sell it for Arcbound, also Splitter looks better for endgame.

2. Arcbound is great item giving you extra MS, lots of AS and crits. But i think if you don't want to buy Khali - dont buy arcbound.

3. Everything looks good)

1.Isomorphic Pyre is an item you might want to get if your opponents are mostly tank and have no/not much spell resist. If you have enemies that can fish out a lot of damage and also has lots of health, it depends on whether he has spell resist, I like contamination shard/Pyre combo instead of Khali/arcbound combo, since contam+pyre is pretty much gg for all tanks, however, critic damage that comes from khali is based on the amount of dmg dealt to your enemy after the deduction of dmg from armor.

2.Arcbound is better if you want extra movement speed when you're going critic build so you can chase, Phantom Menace is more of an item that allows you to run and walk around the map.

3.Nope,bad day, retards everywhere

Every build depends about 60-80% on the hero, enemy hero, and allied team comp. The only item that never changes is Time Splitter. Hard carries should avoid pyre in favor of an AGI Weapon speed build and rarely a crit build. Hard carries are Drapa, Nova, Grunty. Pyre is good on STR and semi-carries that can't get weapon speed from AGI. Only go Crit as a Nova or Boros. Only go Crit on Nova if they have a lot of squishies for you to feed on.

After testing, I have found that I do not need Isomorphic Pyre for weapon speed with my current general build (for Shadow at least, I haven't checked Nova yet), and currently will replace it with Shadowmourne in late-game to build up the Contamination Shard stacks faster. As for Phantom Menace and Arcbound Ravager....I have just decided not to concern myself with those items (at least yet), since Shadow probably is not going to need extra movement speed, and Nova seems to work pretty well with the slow from Force of Entropy.

its probably still a decent idea to have 1 pursuit item on nova like sliptyde, shadow doesnt matter though as he has stepping strikes

Grunty should start jungle, if you get a bad lane you will not be happy. I suggest Machete and Hatchet, then take either Tea Leaf or Agi potions. Then build Stun Knife into Shadowmourne and then you should be fine and dandy. Just ward the enemy jungle as you will have ms boost in water so you can gank really fast.

After Shadowmourne, I personally get some cloak which can catch people off guard and kill them. If you want more burst, get Cerebro as it procs with SM and offers a lot of WS, free energy(you need a lot on grunty), and burst damage.
