Dota is not a noob friendly genre imo, and I dont think that most of the people will actually read guides. Most of the people that start to play could care less about anything other than getting good emotions. And most of the noobs are getting, mostly, bad feelings playing aos in the 1st 2-3 hundred games. Im surprised that game is so high in ratings.

thats why there should actually be a tutorial map that way instead of trying to teach them all of these commands etc and how all the mechanics work whilst trying to carry them all game.... we can just point them to that

sure it may ruin 1 game, but it wont ruin 300

Even tho I am agree with you that something like this should exist, but I still think that most players never really read anything. Majority just plays and once some of the players that actually want to learn the game, they go to this site and read guides here. But it is a huge step from point A to point B. Imo the game as it is is just broken. You forget that a lot of people are non-english speaking. In EU majority of new players are russians that just dont know english. And tbh most of old players dont speak any English. No tutorians will fix this unless it is done in most languages, which is just a lot of work put into nothing, cause 9 out or 10 will never read it anyways. I tried many mods in sc2 and I've never read ANY of those tutorials. If I like the game, I'd rather visit their forum and read guides there. The sc2 engine is just broken and doesn't let anyone write good guides inside sc2. Platform is just bad. Not to mention, that there's gotta be a way to send all noobs in one game, and all mediocres to another and all good players to 3rd. Or just mix em all in a balanced manner.

Since 3rd version I was saying that system can check players k/d ratio and balance teams by putting 10 people from the same lobby into 2 balanced teams. I dont get it why we still have this broken system in which there's absolutely no way of getting a proper balanced game in a pub. 9 out of 10 games it is so one sided.

Just creating a little guide may change something only for English speakers. Which in fact wont change anything on other server but na. Which means that majority of the new players (in KR, SEA, Ru, EU) will have 0% difference after the new guide. In fact the more complex the game is the less people actually play it. That is partly a reason why aos is #6-7 in EU and #2-3 is NA, and #500-1000 in KR. We will see some increase in player base, but only for a little while. Sc2 popularity is going down all the time. The only reason why blizzard made it free, cause hots did almost nothing in kindling sc2 popularity. In fact most of the people are leaving the game all the time, much more than people that join the community.

Looks like Arcade games are going to be free soon. Meaning, a huge wave of new feeders are coming in. Maybe you should start thinking about your game. How to keep those new players from rage quitting by pub stompers.

Not a very easy task, buddy. We have talked about improving the experience of the game, but the reality is that we'll have to make significant gameplay and social changes. Tutorial could help, but it really 'craps' out their patience. We're going to establish an introduction to make it more linear or straight-forward for potential newcomers to understand the game easier.

Still no marketplace, even in development.

I don't think they'll ever plan to release it until the Arcade community grows 10x the size. It's just not viable to do it now. Plus, they don't want to see the best available maps excluded only for the ones that paid.

The reality is that the best way to make balanced games it to have a ranking system, which is impossible with the small number of people that play this game at the moment. I really don't think it has all that much to do with what the Devs have or haven't done.
