Heroic Passive: Martial Combat

Zhao's training and experience grants him 1.11*lvl timescale(20% @ lvl 18) & 0.55*lvl evasion(10% @ lvl 18)

 

In Depth Skill Explanation:

Drag of 1 million unjust tigers [Q] (Active)

 

Zhao throws his Chain whip in a circular arc of 6/8/10/12 units (toggleable from left or right side using V) damaging the first enemy it hits for 50/100/150/200 +30% wep dmg spell dmg & rooting them for 1 second

Zhao can then choose to pull the enemy up to 3/4/5/6 units towards him by pressing Q again within 1 second and paying its mana cost

Shadowed stance of the Shaman [W] (Toggleable passive)

 

Zhao moves more swiftly on the battlefield dashing 0.25/0.5/0.75/1 units foward every 1 second & cloaking himself in the terrain every 5/4/3/2 seconds for 1 second

dash and cloak to happen at seperate intervals

Tornado of 5 Falcons [E] (Toggleable passive)

 

Every 2/3/4/5 sequenced attack Zhao performs a special manouver;

2nd: steps to the side of enemy & attacks their limbs causing a 20% slow & damage reduction for 1 second

3rd: steps behind enemy unit attacking a critical part of the nervous system stunning them for 0.1 seconds

4th: Zhao targets enemy hero in the organs with the end of his steel whip causing a bleeding debuff deals 30% bonus wep dmg over 2 seconds

5th: Zhao uppercuts enemy hero knocking them up & causing a critical hit with 30% bonus crit dmg

5th attack sequence to proc BHM / Stars fury etc

i wanted this hero to have a really cool attack animation and i feel this achieves that

Killer's Snap of the One Thousand Links [R] (Active)

 

Zhao flurries his chain whip 6 times whilst performing a triple butterfly kick towards target location.

Deals 50/75/100 +25% wep dmg spell dmg to a maximum of 3 strikes per enemy target.

i wanted this hero to have some really cool animations with his attack sequence & ultimate to feel very different from other heroes

his pull is similair to boros but works in a different fashion which im unhappy with that its similar but i feel he needed a skillshot pull so i tried to differ it as much as possible

I'm a little confused on the E skill. What is gained by leveling it? How do the effects work? Is it that the second time you hit an enemy in a row does the sidestep and the third attack in a row gains what you listed as the third attack sequence?

yes so basically 1st attack is normal, 2nd is sidestep, 3rd is attack from behind, 4th is organ, 5th is uppercut then it goes back to 1st

you get 1 of those attacks per lvl up

The ulti seems weak unless I am missing something, since its damage for a single target isn't that high, 300(75% ad). He doesn't really feel like an assassin to me, more like a brawler/tanky dps, which is fine but you said he was part assassin, and his skills seem more suited for other roles to me.

well based upon the skill animation it had to be setup like that or it would just look stupid if it did that to 1 target only

 

although 300 +75% ad may seem like not a large amount of dmg = 675 (based on 500 base dmg)

but then if you add in their whole team = x5 targets = 1500 + 375%AD = 3375dmg so yeah if i didn't keep the single target amount low the pack damage would be extremely high & i didnt want it to be too op as his other skills are quite good (zera, darpa etc dont have a wep dmg ulti and i thought it would be too overpowered if i made this do large damage to 1 target)

 

i know his ulti is not an assassin style spell but the rest of his skill set is & should be sufficient to kill an enemy if caught alone whilst not having an overpowered ulti (but if it still feels under powered ill scale it higher)

 

btw thinking about it what do you class as a dps assassin then?

he has the ability to pull targets away to 1v1 them

he has the ability to chase targets

he has evasion, stun, knock up, slow, DOT, crit, timescale, damage reduction, cloak

is that not enough to be an assassin?

 

maybe i should just make it so he presses R and deals 10,000dmg to 1 hero like boros with no counter... lol

but seriously his ulti should help break up team grouping so he can 1v1 heroes, staying together in a pack would be a bad idea if he ults them, much like how you dont stay too tightly grouped vs vergil

That W sounds like it would make him an absolute pain to hit with skillshots. I like it, though, since it's predictable (it has a constant interval).

its similar to the old agility item that used to cloak you on every X attack, it wouldn't evade skill shots as they are AOE but it would stop targeted shots momentarily

it would look like he blinked to the destination instantly but instead he would just gain lots of move speed like shadow does to use stepping strikes otherwise we would have the old problem how shadow used to evade everything

The reason I say he feels more like a brawler than assassin is that he doesn't have high burst, but his sustained cc and damage are very good. His q is more initiation I feel, and his cc with after the pull could hold the enemy in place for his team to rape them.

I have a suggestion for his ultimate. It seems to continue the cool kungfu theme but what about making him move in a specific pattern like a star and as he moves he heats the ground up for X seconds causing those in the path to bleed out. This would make his martial arts a bit more stylized. And at the center of each pass through making the star, he roots his enemy and hits him once? A very cool hero concept though!
