EKCO
So in recent news, the Arcade will no longer be restricted to people with a copy of SC2 or its expansions. It will be open to everyone. So, feel free to introduce your friends to AoS after the patch since it will be completely free to play. Aren't you glad we waited? Adamantium
Wow, that is surprising but an excellent move on Blizzard's part.

TaxHaven
This means the HOTS patch will be hurried along? Since there is no more anti hots whatever?

hbogyt
But then what has become of my dream that AoS would be ported to an independent platform?
MOTHER
Making SC2 Arcade free-to-play opens AoS to the world. I hope the developers take advantage of this new platform that blizzard offered them.
mynhauzen
From what I understand, blizzard's platform atm isnt really that great if you compare it to pretty much any platform. You cant get big $ off it. There's a lot of limits to it. And IMO them making it free shows the declined popularity and increased fears of losing any interest in developers to create games on that platform. How often do you see new games in the top 10? RedHydra
This means the HOTS patch will be hurried along? Since there is no more anti hots whatever? Their patch won't come out until 2014, according to the developers in the SC2 Panel.
