Raze. Darkseeker

Portrait: Defiler

Unit Base: Defiler

Type: Jungler/ Assassin

Script: An ancient and formidable hunter, Darkseeker has been around for centuries. Although he is blind, his other senses are remarkably sharp, and give him a decisive edge in his dark subterranean habitat.

Darkseeker is primarily a jungler, as his abilities make him exceptionally good at unexpected ganks, but at best mediocre in lane. Jump in with Webmaster, and slow with Poison Sting. Eclipse can be used to trap enemies in an ring of roaches, while Darkseeker attacks quickly with Berserk, or to silence an enemy for 7 seconds with Poison Sting. Alternatively, it can give Darkseeker 100% spell resist for a short duration, for jumping on more than one target that can retaliate quickly and savagely.

Heroic Passive: Hunting Pulse

"Every 4 - (level * 0.1) seconds Darkseeker sends out a hunting pulse, in a circle around him, visible only to him. Every enemy/neutral unit touched by the pulse becomes visible to Darkseeker for 3 seconds, and if it is heroic, it also sends out a pulse in a circle around it (a single pulse can only chain between heroes 3 times). Pulses travel at 8 units/second. Every time Darkseeker comes in contact with a returning pulse, he gets + 50% movement speed for 0.4 seconds. Max pulse range of 16.”

Effect: Darkseeker is blind, so you'd think that he would be dumb to venture out alone, where friendly creeps/heroes don't give him vision. You'd be wrong. This ability allows Darkseeker to "see" around him, as well as gives him a super powerful scouting tool, if the player knows how to use it. Additionally, it gives him some movement speed bonus when around heroes. If you think that this bonus is short, imagine 5 enemy heroes clumped up, sending an almost infinite amount of returning pulses to Darkseeker, giving him an almost permanent 50% movement bonus. NOTE: pulses sent out by Darkseeker are red, from enemy heroes are blue.

Ability One: Webmaster

Passive: "If Darkseeker stands in one place for 7- (0.2 * lvl) seconds, he passively creates a web. Heroes that walk into webs are rooted for several seconds. Webs are invisible, have a sight and activation range of 2 and last 120 seconds, or until an enemy hero walks into them."

Active: “Darkseeker fires a fine silken web at a target point. If the web hits a unit, Darkseeker is pulled towards that unit, and his next attack deals an additional 150% weapon damage as spell damage .If enhanced by Eclipse, Darkseeker will also gain 100% spell resist for 4 seconds. ”

Energy Cost: 100/110/120/130

Cooldown: 16

Level 1: Roots for 0.75 seconds. 5 unit range.

Level 2: Roots for 1.25 seconds. 8 unit range

Level 3: Roots for 1.75 seconds. 11 unit range

Level 4: Roots for 2.25 seconds. 14 unit range

Effect: excellent at setting traps, and springing them. Make a web then hide somewhat close and out of sight and wait. Once something gets trapped, fire a web at them and proceed to make a meal out of them.

Ability Two: Poison Sting

"Darkseeker injects target enemy with his venom, which slows movement, and deals damage over 7 seconds. If enhanced by Eclipse, Poison Sting will also silence this target for this duration."

Energy Cost: 120 at all levels

Cooldown: 18/17/16/15

Range: 2

Level 1: Slows movement by 12%, deals 14 + (10% int) spell damage per second

Level 2: Slows movement by 17%, deals 21 + (10% int) spell damage per second

Level 3: Slows movement by 22%, deals 28 + (10% int) spell damage per second

Level 4: Slows movement by 27%, deals 35 + (10% int) spell damage per second

Effect: A very powerful chasing ability, especially with nitrogen retrofit. Also, a very long silence when enhanced by ultimate.

Ability Three: Berserk

"Darkseeker gets an attack speed bonus for 6 seconds. When enhanced by Eclipse, spawns 8 Primal Roaches in a ring around Darkseeker. Primal Roaches are Light, cannot move or be pushed, and deal 8 (+ 5% int) per second). Roaches have 100 + 25 *lvl hp, and last 6 seconds. "

Energy Cost: 40/60/80/100

Cooldown: 10

Level 1: + 20% weapon speed.

Level 2: + 40% weapon speed

Level 3: + 60% weapon speed

Level 4: + 80% weapon speed

Effect: main damage steroid. Saves him the need to buy lots of weapon speed items, and allows him to focus on weapon damage and health.

Ultimate Ability: Eclipse

"The duration of Darkseeker's movement bonus from Hunting Pulse is passively increased. Additionally, Darkseeker's next ability is greatly enhanced, and he gets debuff immunity for 4 seconds."

So, after reading it again, I feel like for an assassin, he tends to lack burst and depend heavily on sustained damage (although we don't really have that many burst assassins in AoS other than Cyprus). His webs are an interesting mechanic, but like all characters with stealth mechanics, he cannot depend on them too much or else he will get countered hard by truesight. As such, I feel like you should give him a little more damage on his abilities that isn't tied to his autoattacks, or maybe make his Q active root.

However, debuff immunity might make him having CC too great of a threat, as then there would be no counterplay. Your call.

Also, a question about his E: do the roaches block movement, and do they focus whatever target Raze is attacking?

He is an assassin in that he springs unexpectedly, from afar, traps you in ult+e, maybe tasers for extra effect, all the while destroying you at almost maxed weapon speed from a very early level. Basically think Nova + Lethal Barb with way more hp, weapon damage, better CC, at the cost of range, no crits, and slightly less weapon speed. Webs are mostly for early game, and ensuring you land q on enemies that are far away in the fog of war. Also, since they cannot be destroyed unless walked into, they are great for when you know where battles will happen (ex ramps on Aeon or Levi, close to towers, etc).

However, debuff immunity might make him having CC too great of a threat, as then there would be no counterplay. Your call.

Well, it is an ult, and Egon's debuff imunity lasts way longer. He might not deal as much DPS as other heroes, but this ensures that no one can reduce it further. If it's not overpowered on Boros, it's hardly overpowered here.

Also, a question about his E: do the roaches block movement, and do they focus whatever target Raze is attacking?

They block movement, similar to old LZ ult, and prioritize heroes, though not necessarily the one Raze is attacking

Egon is not an assassin that people need to peel off of your carry though, and Boros can only do his assassin thing when his target is alone. This guy has the advantage that he can simply charge into a team and stick to a carry, although he runs the risk of not being tanky enough to dive.

I like how the primal roaches work. Do they also trap Raze? I'm not familiar with how LZ's ult worked. Is it like clockwerk's power cogs (dota 2)? Being stuck in your own circle for 6 seconds is more than a little annoying when there's a nova and toxi pounding you from outside of your own circle.

Made some minor changes to fit in excel spreadsheet (still couldn't quite make it but it's no bigger than starscream's or Jakk's script, and it's explained as concisely as possible).

Primal Roaches trap Raze as well as enemies, so if you are up against 2 people R-Q and R-W can be a better combo than R-E.

5. Press Crop

6. Save Image

7. Upload to http://imgur.com/
