Ratings ingame

I think a rating should be controlled by kd ratios in game rather than wins or losses. It is extremely difficult to determine whether a game will end a win or a loss and it doesn't really determine a player's level. Kd ratios do signify skill. Also a noob's rating could be high just because he consistently has a good team not because he has skill. This is just my opinion and several of my teammates agree with me.

Even though in my opinion that rating is absolutely useless, this is still a very bad idea.

By doing so, the majority of the players who care about their own rating will put their KD over the main objective of the game.

It promotes self-play over team-play in a very bad way as, in the end, only your personal KD matters regardless of the outcome of the game.

The game should be won via teamwork and as a tank or support your KD isn't suppose to be all that "great."

In a true competitive setting, only your team's carry should be getting kills and golds in order to win the game.

By applying your suggestion, it will make the already casual pub scene an even worse place to practice teamwork and synergy.

That's a good point :D

Right now rating pushes you to play in a team of 4-5 players. If you add something like blizzard does, giving experience for certain things. Like buffing an allied hero, last hitting, denying, escaping the fight with almost no hp, killing tower on your own/with a team, killing aeon on your own, placing wards, scan that actually finds an enemy hero, prevent of someone's channeling, killing someone in a group of 5 etc. Obviously this is mostly how u grade a support, but u can think of granting experience to carries as well. That kind of rating would def be more viable than 99% of people as it is right now in bronze-gold, and the others are tourney winners or pubstompers...

I think now is the main goal to fix end-game bug. Lots of wins lost coz of bug.

I also dont understand systems. I have 1.7k/d ratio. 160wins/80loses and im silver...

Math wise the system is just stupid. I think u get rating for win vs people with higher rating, not just the win. So if u beat 5 bronze players or 5 gold players (even tho all 10 could be noobs), you will get different amount of rating. Because every one is in silver right now, and people with high rating are playing pubs only with 3-4 friends, people are simply doomed to stay silver forever. Not to mention, if this goes on, most of the players will be in low bronze, cause winning vs majority of players giving u less points than losing, which leads entire community to be very low the more you play... :D The only way to get more rating is playing vs gold noobs.

Most of platinum/diamond players saved their rating on PC to play without losing it in pubs. To get there u need to play ~200-300 games with a pubstomp team... :D But it gets boring after 2-3 games...

Not to mention that system doesn't account for battle-net problems, such as drops, no matchmaking, playing vs team with randoms. Not to mention there's heroes that will win game more often than others. No to mention there's people that leave for whatever reason in the middle of a game which could influence the whole game.

So a noob shadow owning other noobs in pubs would have high rating because his k/d(you're not counting assists...) ratio? yeah I'm sure that would be a good proof that such shadow is a skilled player.
