Greetings and salutations fellow friends of Aos. B4 i say anything else i would like to say this. I LOVED SOTIS and LOVE AOS! I also have MUCH love and respect for RED, ECKO and WRATH ofcourse.

 

I have thought about making this post a while back...about a month ago, but then i kept saying to myself "nah, just give it another week or two, A lot of ppl metioned it already and they will change it soon". reason I thought this is bc we all obviously know that you guys arnt of the big gaming companies that dont rly listen to their players. we are a small community (aos) within a small community (sc2) of gaming. we have bound together and made this game what it is (mostly the dev's anyways) but " WE ARE THE FANS!"

 

(again i thought about making this post a while back B4 ppl started quiting so its not like im jumping on the ( insert vehicle here)

 

Anyways nothing changed comming week after week. I "pulled my last straw if you will" ....i dont even know if thats a saying or not lol...but now it is! lol. Thought i could put up with these new players, which i wont even refer too as noobs right now...bc any new person playing this game and comming into the forums..that word alone might discourage. I know its all fun and games..but some dudes cry like ****** so i dunno maybe we can stop calling other players flobing scrubs, n shap like that after they die a few times. Who knows they might stay in the game long enough to know what to do for the next one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

we have to be more pateint as older players yes. ask anyone whos played with me, when a game starts i ask in (all chat) "if anyone is new i will help, ask me what you wanna know" even if they are on other team. What would RLY RLY go a long way is what previous players have mentioned and this is not new. I have read many thoughtful postes from other members asking for some very basic instructions to be posted on the loading screen. im not gonna go through and list them bc im sure others have bc i read it!! and im sure you guys can come up with a basic list which new players can read who havent played this type of game b4. it will make them survive longer and pick up basic rythem of gank or holding a tower and may other things... instead of them thinking they can just roam/skip around the map while whisteling the andy griffith theme song.

Again iv been meaning to do this for a while but thought id keep giving it a chance. Most members hear already know my story, how i work like a dog....prolly like most of us hard working dudes and gals do...but i have random work hours...i know RED AND ECKO do too when it comes to "TWERKING" the game if you will lol. they also do this all on thier own time which i respect and admire so much that they would never even know. simply bc i know i cant do what they do and im not as skilled. Although, small things such as mentioned above by not only me but a lot of the community shoul be addressed.

 

I am gonna stick around and hold TRUE AND STONG!!! bc i know this game can become bigger on its own without sc2, and even if thats not true or not able to happen I LOVE THIS GAME AND WILL CONTINUTE to support with publicity and a lil $$ ya know? lol :P

I like to see myself as all the other brothers who quit AOS, i feel their pain and frustration. I wanna be here to make a change though and not simply quit. BC i wanna come back and play very soon once this is fixed. When i read these (change logs) im like "alight cool....they did this-this-and this. but still didnt rly address the issue of ( insert here) Im willing to infuse 500-1000$ into the game. But i cant see it go to waste.

 

 

-Again plz, id like not to get banned for this post nor a warning point. as it would show you're true intentions. a PM from ECKO would suffice as i may be a decent "donor" to the cause. Im not rly rly wealthy and cant afford everything i budget and live by my means...and also not a cheap dude..when i like something. i like to support the cause, i work hard and spend what ever i can (my means) i only bought sc2 HOTS was bc i thought i need it for the game lol....havvent played one ladder game ever!!! look at my profile..my friend showed my SOTIS and i bought sc2 just for that game alone...never once in my life played an actual sc2 match.

 

 

Meh i know you guys/devs could careless but im out right up until you adress loading screen issue..then id have no prob playing the game...as long as i know you guys are trying. but at the moment seems like you are fixing things which arnt rly in priority.

You know whats funny is that i tried my hardest when i was writing that post to not make it seem like that. I Can never force someone to do anything they dont want to. EKCO an RED are they OWN MEN!! and do what they wann do WHEN THEY WANNA DO IT!!!. This is their game, and they are BOSSES. I swear to you it was always in the back of my head. im like "im not special, and it dont matter if i leave or not" that was not my intentions. i just meant to give an even eaiser and more light hearted response. Rather then just saying i quit!!!! like most others. im just in simple peaceful protest that i wont come back until i see changes being made....not to what i want, rather what most of the community seems to be asking for and yes ill admit...im one of them, so what? i also know i dont have much of an impact of the community since im not that good rly to be honest and i dont rly IH. but still. if u play another game now ( LoL, Dota) u maybe have better balance,more heros, and all the other small things that aos is missing. but the community wont change. i can promise u that. Mobas are mobas and humans are humans. The question is, do u have the guts to deal with it or not.

I can understand that you are frustrated with the lack of progress (i am too sometimes), but it is only a couple of guys with a huge project. Also, keep in mind that even with huge teams, Dota and LOL only get a new patch about once a month. They just have larger hero pools and such so they give the appearance of progress.

that is because both games have reached the size where doing lots of content patches would just wreck the pro scene and they have enough heroes that it would also be unsustainable without new heroes feeling redundant.

I could careless about the bugs and balancing and what not to be honest with you..I enjoy the game as it is. I just hate the fact that one simple thing can be done which is to put basic objectives and tips on load screen. We have been asking this for a while.."them being a couple of guys with a huge project" don't cut it. As the information for the tournies is constantly being changed...and not rly needed...bc the ppl who wanna play in them would already know about it without seeing it on the load screen. This one change that would take very little time but make a huge diff in how new ppl play the game.

Actually, the first time i played this game... I can't understand anything, at all. I don't know what's with these int/agi/str point do and what's timescale means.... It's kinda hard for new player to get a concept what is the basic. I think we should add something like tutorial about points, basic definitions on the loading screen :D

I am fairly new to this website and the AoS community itself. However I am here to propose an idea to everyone including Red and Ekco if they read this. I'm unknown currently but it seems a common complaint is newbies. Well we all talk about the community so lets be a community. I propose an idea.

 

What if we all truly come together and create a separate website dedicated to fundamentals of AoS. Before you call this trash read on please. I'm not talking hero specifcs I'm talking basics of what needs to be known to improve ones prowess at AoS.

 

We all seem to call this a community so lets get together. Why don't we all pitch in and create targeted areas of need to know and put it together on a small website or even a single webpage. This is where Red and Ekco would come in. They can put the web page address on the loading screen.

 

Here's my proposal thus far.

Tips and explanations of what simple things are and how items with examples can be used on hero's in general, such as...

-what time scale is and what cooldowns are.

What a strength hero's general role is

What an intelligance hero's general role is

What an agility hero's general role is

Then we break those into sub categories such as

Carries

Tanks

Burst

DPS

what some items are best for certain hero roles

What INT point do

What AGI points do

What STR points do

Basic strategies

How to survive better

What map awareness is

What wards do

What consumables are

Why someone would need a true sight slicer.

THE PROMOTION OF TEAMWORK AND WHY ITs ESSEnTIAL TO VICTORY

 

 

The list can go on a bit. But with simple explanations this can be put into a few sub categories on a simple page and a LINK provided on the loading screen for tips and AoS guidance. Just my 2 cents. But if we are going to be called a community and want some issues addressed. This could be one way to address the new players and we know SOME will go to this page out of curiosity and maybe even learn a few things. Just my idea on a complaint with little time from the moderators of the game itself. I think a simple link and explanation of what the link is is simple enough, yet allows the tournaments and other information on the load screen to stay put. Any thoughts?

I know there is a beginner's guide on AoS.com. but my idea is either transfer that to a web page or provide a direct link on the loading screen as well explaning what that direct link does. Besides the use of the AoS.com visit us for the community. A link to that guide may be helpful as well. I forgot we had one. But a simple solution is even providing another link on the load screen saying something to the effect of "For AoS beginners please visit this link for basics and fundamentals of AoS strategy!" This in turn would promote the AoS website and it's community as well as tell people as they stare at that screen for 1-3 minutes that there is indeed a basic guide out there. This will help them learn things they don't know, and promote the website. It's a win/win I believe. But I think there should be things added to that guide and a little more detailed guide crested about the smaller stupid things such as carriers, tanks, what teamwork is and why it benefits you, as well as why agi hero's work and rely on specifics types of items (I.e. abilities benefits from weapon speed and damage, ect. ect. That guide is great bit could be improved for the dumb stupid rookies don't get. And providing the direct address for the guide as well as a direct address to the AoS site I think would create the curioisity for the people who do want to get better as well as growing this site further.

Scenario:

0-3 shadow displays new player tendencies.

Get's asked if new, says yes.

I offer the player help, advice, etc.

Ends up 0-9 after not buying the items I tell him too, and playing how he should.

Has lowest creep kill count after 20 minutes, even after told him how to get creep count up and make more monies.

At 0-9 when asked why he isn't doing what I said, he claims to know the basics.

Bad Maar in game feeds too and mediocre MK is just trying to surrender for like 10 minutes straight.

I bring up the topic of surrender as a liable option at this point in the game as our shadow and maar donated a lifetimes supply of hearty meals to other team shadow.

Now I'm behind because trying to teach and constantly typing missed tons of last hits during lane phase,

Only other competent player (vorpal) tried to help, but ends up RQing at 20 minutes after no advice stuck.

Our Shadow (lvl 9, everyone else is lvl 11-12 except enemy shadow lvl 14) now decides to engage 1v1 enemy shadow.

Possibly died in one hit but I couldn't tell, definitely died in less than one second.

Told him not to engage enemy shadow because he's very fed and play smart going for enemy Null or Cow.

Guy engages shadow a few more times then RQs.

 

We surrender moments later as the game is damn near impossible to win.

 

TL;DR: I tried to help a newbie, the player wasn't receptive, and this is always the case. That is why new players are trash, because they are trash people. #scrubswillbescrubs
