Buff for least played units...?

Hey guys, I'm not going to go on a rant about what units are OP, but rather discuss the units that are least played, and possibly could use a buff/change. The choices for which unit to play are more so than they used to be, but it seems every game there are units that are never played.

 

Units that I personally see that aren't played much (Based on a scale from 1-9, 1 being the least played, 9 being the highest);

 

1) Dustin

2) Greelus

3) Feral

4) Geneva

5) Immortal

6) Jackson

7) Vergil

8) Toxi

9) Penthos

 

So why aren't these units played? Should some of them receive a buff or spell change?

For 1, 2, 5 I think they are very boring and have a 1-dimensional playstyle. Feral is too complicated for most but does not need a buff. Geneva is awesome but a team player, so you won't see her in pubs a lot. I see enough Vergil's and Penthos. Not sure about Toxi and Jackson.

1. Dustin requires too much skills for casual players in pub scene to play. If a Dustin does not carry smokescreen, you can already tell he's not good. If you don't know why, you are one of the noobs.

2. Is fine.

3. Is fine and on strong side.

4. Very strong and often banned in InHouse among with Egon

5. Positioning is the key to this hero and that's the reason why you don't see it much in pub games because there is virtually no positioning sense in most of the pub games.

6. Requires some skills to play him so no one plays him in pubs.

7. this one must be a joke because he is strong.

8. Same as 7.

9. is fine.

Dustin Is amazing, but takes skill and doesn't fully kick in until level 16. He's good at Spell-dps but isn't the greatest at getting the kill, so pubs don't play him much.

 

Greelus is support, no one in pubs want's to play support.

 

Lurker: Useless AA in later stages, forces you to go INT/support making him have a limited role.

 

Geneva: Support hero, everyone wants to carry and no one ones to play support. She's very strong in the right comp.

 

Jackson: Incredible AOE silence, stun, and gather... very, very powerful, but not good at finishing. He's an AOE initiator, that people don't know how to capitalize on in pubs. Wombo combo comps IH have fallen off lately because of strength of CC.

 

Vergil: Exceptionally strong mid game. One of the best teamfight ults in the game, very easy to abuse in pubs and feed off noobs.

 

 

Toxi: He's fine

 

Penthos: Very strong 1v1, suffers alot from CC and takes some skill to play well.

 

I don't think any of these heroes are particularily under powered.

2) Greelus - extremely good hero but got to big a nerf on the q

3) Feral - good hero also just hard to play like dustin

4) Geneva - rly good hero just situational also

5) Immortal - good hero just boring to use and play

6) Jackson - good hero also just situational. wombo comps are not as valuable as split push

7) Vergil - really good hero great dmg and easy to play

8) Toxi - really great hero started becoming popular once the move speed items got fixed

9) Penthos - good hero just not as valuable as say a zera or ling.

 

So why aren't these units played? Should some of them receive a buff or spell change?

 

not every hero needs to be a carry going 9-0 god like, heroes have roles and in pubs you dont see the usefulness of these roles, there is hardly team work in pubs

And...no none of these heroes need an immediate change, only thing I see wrong with any of them is that Greelus's silence go right through parallax

not every hero needs to be a carry going 9-0 god like, heroes have roles and in pubs you dont see the usefulness of these roles, there is hardly team work in pubs

Honestly though, I think the only hero that needs to be changed. The newest and most boring hero in my opinion.

Thanks guys for the input. I was just trying to get a feel for everyone's thoughts. I do agree with a lot of you, most people don't like to play support or use a lot of strategy in public games, which is probably why I hardly see these heroes used.

You are correct in seeing that these heros are underplayed. It just doesn't mean they are underpowered. For most of them, they require a good team (rare in pubs), or skill (even more rare).

 

Penthos is really OP when used correctly (in pubs), I can go godlike every time in pubs he's like a joke so I don't play him often, its too easy (though his skills are pretty fun, that's why I play him).

Also, Dustin is amazing and in my opinion not really that hard to play you just mash buttons in the direction of enemy heros and he does so much aoe damage.

Immortal is freaking boring, that's his only problem.

I don't think I've seen a cyprus in a game in at least three weeks, actually I think I saw a single one, but he couldn't do much against the AA because of stun knife/timesplitter.

Only hero i can say is up is immortal.If u have some skill he can be good in pubs,but falls so hard late game.As of ih i think this hero is rly useless.In laning chances are rly small to hit some1 with q,his w is awesome early-mid game,his e dosent rly matter if u miss q.And for last i think his ult is worst skill in game.In pubs it might be a bit useful,but in ih is useless.

his ulti is decent for standing in a creep wave charging your mana or charging your laser while still getting free farm...that's about it.

This post is just makes me ROFL. All of this heroes are great.

Dustin and Jax is just harder a bit than others - but they are good.

Geneva is my love, lots of ty, wow, wp from other mates even in pubs makes me feel good.

Immortal is boring, yes.

And i can say one thing, you killed old LordZ and new one is a grey shadow.

You made Penthos and killed Lord - whyyyyy???? This hero makes this like showmatch, with lots of entertainment.

I played him for a long time until it got almost boring he's so absurd.

 

Only thing he needs is a fix to his E so it doesn't do that freaking spinning in a circle and not going anywhere.

I just tried Dustin out for a few games and have decided that he is mildly ridiculous if you are playing him well (I sucked moldy potatoes my first two games, but did very well in the last few).

Yea, a late game Dustin is probably the most terrifying caster out there. He can do some of the best spell damage out in the game by level 16. He just needs at least level 11 and some INT/mana to be able to sustain the pain.

dustin is like maar a hyper int carry. at lvl 16 with a seed his cool downs are non existent its insane sustain damage

Do not confuse not played with under powered. The devs often buff and nerf stuff only based on how much they are used. For example Dustin was not used in inhouses for such a long time and he was never changed but was then discovered to be op and nerfed later, if he was buffed just because he was not played that would be ridiculous.

These heroes aren't under-powered, just underplayed and occasionally underrated. Jackson and Vergil are my best heroes, and I can do epic-ly with both of them fairly easily.
