ScrubHaven
Talents Might (+15 Weapon damage) Fury (+15% Weapon speed) Fitness (+180 Health) Swiftness (+6% Movement speed) Youth (+200 Maximum energy) Wealth (+200 Starting minerals) Final item build in no particular order: Grunty is an absolute beast of an AA carry. He is amazing when taking bosses, as well as being one of the fastest heroes in the game, while ulti is being used passively. I have been successful with this hero, and I start with a Duran’s Machete, as well as 2 Energy potions. Take these, and go to the easy lane jungle. Creep with your team, but try to take all the last hits. You want to be fed by the time you start engaging the enemy. I would suggest jungling, however, if you are good at getting last hits in lane, feel free to lane. Then I buy a second Duran’s Machete, which gives you weapon speed as well as health, and remember to keep a good supply of energy potions. Then you want to buy Cerebro, then Shadowmourne. After this, I usually buy a Stun Knife, then Phase Cloak. Use both of these to gank the hell out of the enemies, and you should be getting ahead by now. Remember to get close to the enemy to maximize your passive, which is True damage in an area in the direction of attack. The closer you get, the more damage you deal. Sell one Machete and replace for a Buckler, as this mitigates a good % of physical damage. Then complete whatever you feel is necessary to finish first. Skill order: Q, E, E, Q, E, R, E, Q, W, Q, R, Q, W, W, Y, R, Y, Y Reason why I don’t max Shawtgun first, is because it is a mana hungry boii of a skill, and the extra damage does not justify the extra mana cost. Max Rocket[E] first, because the burst damage at max level from it at level 7 is incredible, 280+100%int. The stun duration got nerfed, PLEASE BUFF. You want to research one Swamp Trap[W] at one point, as it is a good escape mechanism, as well as being annoying for the enemy to be slowed by 50% for some time. Your ultimate is a passive which grants a great amount of % movement buff while on water, and disappears 8 seconds after leaving the water. Use this well, as you can reach around 8 flat movement speed with buff and Shinobi activated, which is incredible. Go out, pub, win, come back and leave a comment. MrGrim
I've seen this a bunch of times now on zera and now you're grunty guide, but why dst?
ScrubHaven
DST reduces a LOT of damage coming in from other AA's, and its very helpful to mitigate some of that. Of course, this also helps slow enemies who think they can kite you, as you are 10x better at melee range than full range, as well as slowing enemies if you have to run away. MrGrim
Hello Tax, didn't recognize until the scrabble profile update lol I get early game where buckler helps a ton in survivability but with his super high ms, especially with this build and shinobi's, plus lr/stun knife, isn't something like darwin's better since late game kiting should be kind of a nonfactor? Grunty's "super high movespeed" is actually slower than the movespeed of various other heroes in the game, except when he has river racer bonus, in the late game while either defending your base or pushing the enemy base, such movespeed advantage will be brief or non existent. ckcrown
I have been playing a lot with grunty: Personally I do 2x Machete Lethal Barb Stun Knife Time Splitter Shadow Mourne Eternity Gallactic Defender Sometimes I throw in either Sliptyde Scythe or Phantom Menace.... thoughts? I have seen Flare Gun used effectively on grunty, but personally not very successful with it Sad about the Nerf to rocket. Especially now that the increased movement speed has made it increasingly diffiuclt for me to land rockets. but maybe thats just my poor adation to move speed changes. Soundwave
Is black hole magnum useful for him?
Gwolla
I go Q E E W E R E W first otherwise it gets too mana intensive plus the swamptrap is a very good skill for many reasons. Hate to run out of energy when im shotgunning a hero away from its tower you know. Also don't like mana pots :P Talents, depends. Sometimes 5-1-0, sometimes 4-1-1, sometimes 3-1-2(always getting weap dmg, weap speed and health). I sometimes doubt about the movement speed talent, its somewhat nice but not really required imo. The youth talent is very nice, but I like the aggresive 5-1-0 too.. Item wise, machete -> stunknife -> lightning rod (usually) from here on its pretty much situational. If you need to go full dps, then finishing time splitter into shadowmourne is pretty much always a good choice. The other way around is possible too.. If vs tanky team, get cont shard when you think you need it. Seeing there's pretty much always a nova in games lately its notable to say that nova is a pretty easy target with your speed and stunknife, focus it down when you can. If it somehow survives and runs, rocket should finish the job.
