MOTHER
Why does it do so much damage or any damage even? The fact that it is a supremely effective and reliable AoE silence not enough? Is the AoE silence just too silencing? Skill shot? What skill?! LOL! Also Is Raynor a hero for pussies? So without further ado and while you ponder the answers to those questions, I hereby declare formally that Raynor's silence is OP! Sorry, but it had to be done. Good luck to all participants in this discussion.
Moo
Its damage isn't uber strong unless you are fed or the enemies all built super squish mode, and I think that raynor needs that silence or he would be underpowered, considering he would instantly die to everything damagy. His silence is his only cc and he is a support nuker. Ironsights
Figgonson
Plus, if you have any skill, it is not that hard to dodge. Its harder to dodge in a teamfight, but still. You should not get hit by it during laning phase too often unless you scrub.
ginosaji
If anything is OP about Raynor it's his Q.

You should not get hit by it during laning phase too often unless you scrub. It's OP because it is an AoE damaging silence in team fights, I know it's much easier to dodge and deal with 1v1, but it isn't really meant for 1v1 (the AoE should be clue enough). In team fights, it's just too damn good. I think either the damage needs to go, the AoE reduced or the silence duration reduced by a second or 2. Greelus had his AoE silence nerved for precisely the same reason, it was too good during team fights. Raynor should not be an exception. Hogwarts
If anything is OP about Raynor it's his Q. Â Or, His ult that scales with 100% int, Then if there below half health is scales an extra 50% dmg?

Greelus's silence was nerfed by making its cooldown four seconds higher, so I don't think using its nerf as an example to justify lowering silence duration or taking away damage of raynor's silence is correct. If you take away the damage, you have just forced raynor into either complete support and no damage, or AA, since he will have no damage skills except for ulti, which needs a low hp target to be fully effective. Â Hmm, I thought last time I checked it was if they are below 40% health you get the extra dmg unless...........raynors been stealth buffed. ShadowFlame
I think 1 less range and 4 seconds more Cd would make silence shot more fair. My main problem with it is that people lockbox to hit me the first time, and they just continuous silence me because its so freaking long. I know you say dodge it, but when you are silenced its pretty not that hard to hit 1 or 2 more shots... with the mark and ult it finishes anybody but tanks off easily. And about just attacking him, you never can... his range on everything is amazing. Even without lockbox, the first shot hits me from out of sight cause its so long. That's why I say the range nerf. Moo
If raynor is chaining silencing shots on you then you are doing something wrong. Ways to keep yourself from being chain silenced by raynor: Walk away, jump on his shap and kill him, move sideways and dodge it, have a teammate jump on his shap while he is chasing to chain silencing shots, get a parallax, get an eternal drive, play a character that is fast and dodge, play a character with debuff removal, play a long range character and kill his shap before he silences you. There are probably more, but those are the ones I thought up in this short amount of time.

MOTHER
It's either a great AoE Silence or a great single target skill shot, it should not be both. If it's going to be a great AoE silence then it should sacrifice some duration and increase CD. If it's gonna be a single target skill shot it can keep the damage, current CD and duration, but with a significantly smaller AoE. GENLORDZ
The silence is pretty long, and the range too, Raynor can just random snipe at a tier 1 tower and it may hit you, whats more in team fights a few of you may get silenced by that thing as well... Talking about greelus's silence and raynor's silence, greelus's silence doesnt even deal much dmg and their silence time is about the same...Or make it like bola... where his q hits the first thing it hits and silences and deals dmg to it MOTHER
zeeeend
You realise greelus silence isnt a skillshot and raynors is so the fact silencetime is the same is reasonable but only if raynors deals more dmg if it hits since its harder to hit. And making it like bola/rocket is stupid as creeps would block it way to often. (Making it dmg all creep but only silence 1 hero would require vast amount of extra coding)
MOTHER
Raynor's AOE silence requires very little skill to hit targets, this is especially true when it is used as an AOE SILENCE AGAINST A GROUP OF HEROES.
Moo
The AoE is not large enough to be able to hit a bunch of their team unless they stand in a line or stand in a ball. Raynor's silence is fine right now.
