IH Autobans

Recently, we have had a tendency to try to avoid additional autobans, despite the fact that we all know that some heroes are too strong. I think the main reason for avoiding the autobans has been that once we start autobanning a few of the heroes that are too strong, we will probably end up with a massive laundry list of autos. However, given that we keep waiting for the minor balance tweaks that were discussed a month or more ago, I propose that we change that attitude. In particular, IH games have become incredibly boring because they always revolve around the same OP heroes. I think it's time to stop waiting for the minor balance tweaks and to just autoban a bunch of heroes. As a starting point, I suggest the following heroes be autobanned from mumble IH games until they are adjusted in the ways that we have discussed for weeks now:

 

Egon (i.e. continue autoban due to lag)

Kerrigan

Maar

Dustin

Vorpal

Erekul

LZ

 

Other heroes that should be borderline autos, IMO:

 

Darpa

Toxi

Micro

Drake

 

The delay on making needed and agreed-upon balance changes has made IH games incredibly redundant and boring. Let's address that ourselves by removing the source of the redundancy from the system.

I remember when we autobanned a big amount of heroes in EU, then you'd get "new" op heroes since the "only counter" was autobanned already.

 

I can't fully remember how many heroes we had autobanned as most but it was quite a few, was the 5,0 version when Tychus was retarded as well as grunty, with those autobanned erekul started to rape = autoban --> unix and biotron with creep pushing mechanism got autobanned.

 

Point being if a lot of heroes autobanned quite a few new heroes will seem op either cause they'll be played in every game or cause they lack counters etc.

 

 

I dunno how time consuming it is for develops to adjust scaling with a quick hotfix, but I guess hotfixes was never the strong side of SOTIS / AOS judging by how long some heroes were kept the same while being extremely broken.

LMFAO how did you compile this list ?

Dustin/maar/erekul* haven't been bannend/buffed/changed last 30 versions, so they should be on there a lot longer. If you hate int so much i suggest putting raynor on there aswell.

Idc whats suppose to be wrong with lz.

Kerry is broken, vorpal wrongly buffed so broken.

Egon give me 0 lag but fine, also he's strong if you play him so he needs to be reviewed upon your new pc arrival

 

Drake and toxi are fine leave them alone.

Darpa should be auto aswell since you autoban most of his counters.

Micro is more broken then most of the heroes you suggested(broken due to paralax and no shared cd on shc)

 

*if you want you can ban the shrinkray on this hero

All the games, specially Mobas has an important Psichological component due to set your opinions not just in gaming but being in relation with other opinions, It is really important to know what you knew about what you are speaking and from what point the other people is speaking. This will be no the last case where you see a character nerfed as hell crying cause he seems to be very UP andd coming a relative new player and doing really nice job with him ( Even thinking he never could be stronger than now).

 

I did this in any game, and I do this on Mobas and AoS, usually people don't have a flobing idea what hard is about to balance.

 

Balance is a point where everything is balanced. It means, with mathematics a single case can be followed by a thousand or millions of variables, but it is easier to say the balancing team is a flobing shap and they need to balance only your situation despite of dozens or more other are broken due your proposed balance.

 

A different thing are the bugs needed to be fixed.

 

Although I accept Autobans, I d like to see games where all heros are available ( Except if a team Ban him)

Egon: Not to mention he has some of the best sustain.. and harass... and kill power in the game.

-LOL 2 Ez mode

Kerrigan. Insanely strong.. all game. Yes, no doubt.

-Pretty much can beat out any other AA save DARPA all game long.

Maar. Why? He's not that strong... I'd hope not lol.

-His kit is ally buffs, enemy debuffs, timescale, and spammable harass/turtle. Sounds like Queen + Jakk Summers' interesting traits and then some lol

Dustin. lol new meta crushing... i say only auto until his Q isn't true damage :/ And crush the range on his rockets.

-His Q requires a clusterf***ed team. His W can be any. His E is a clusterflob team engage. His R is a reset. It's not really too devastating if you're not clusterflobed by a Vorpal.

Vorpal. Meh... I don't think so lol

-His QR is a one time use. It does damage, but the enemy has to be clusterf***ed for it to do insanely.

Erekul. Yes. LOL no doubt makes the game painful all game for AA heroes...

-He hard counters nearly every agility hero in game D:

Lord Zyrkhan. woah wtf why. His ulti will sponge a lot of damage later... but his kit isn't superwtfbbq amazing if you ask me :/

-If you dont have LZ... Vergil or Raynor's spammable spells will run over teams :*(

 

DARPA: Kind of, he's more a 1st round pick/ban because he's so strong. But there's counters.

-Taser and shrink ray work well, same with artifact and shrapnel (used to).

Toxi: ?

-Whyyyyy??

Micro: lol.... his throw is all he has for the team and a giant space whore... but that's it :/

-Seriously. He has the best initiation but what else? lol

Drake: ?

-Why?

 

I'd personally auto Egon, Erekul, Dustin, and Justicar (of course, lol... permalockdown for someone? oh lord)

they are strong but only autos should be egon (lag) and POSSIBLY dustin. really. just cause the hero is a tad stronger then others/changes the way the game must be played.

I really don't think the answer to balancing a game is nerf nerf nerf nerf, why dont we think the other way about it, heros that arent as viable, need buffs! nerfs make the game more boring, i dont wanna see half the hero pool nerfed, id rather see the other half get buffed.

I know I am not big on the mumble scene, but I really don't think the answer is to ban everything...especially when I don't really see why you would ban all of that anyway.

Ok we will autoban 10 heros cause some or a lot of people consider then so OP. Now, we just can pick 30 heros, but from that 30 heros there will be 10-11 considered OP compared to the other pickable heros then 3 months later we will just play with 20 heros and so on finally we will ask Wrath or Red for playing everyone with same hero since we will be the same

Instead of auto bans why not just use the team bans then picks or w/e. What is the actual autoban list, or where is it updated?

 

It does seem like a large percentage of the hero bucket gets banned, some for good reason, some though I just don't know why since I don't play the IHs.

so you suggest banning a 1/2 of my specialised heros?

 

Was wondering when you were gonna speak up about dustin. He's strong, maybe a little too strong very late game, but I don't think ban worthy.

I agree with Kerri and Micro for sure. Of the others mentioned there are a few I think are strong, but I don't think broken.
