I think it's a nifty little item, but it could use some changes to make it see more use.

 

Currently it costs 2900 (emerald mox(475), higgs-boson capacitor(1850), recipe(575)).

It gives +50 INT and +250 health, and has a unique that gives 20% of your max energy and 50% CDR for 20 seconds after a kill or assist.

 

It's riding the line between the cheaper midgame items you might choose to sell later on and the endgame items. I think we should raise it to be an endgame item.

So here's what we could change:

 

-Components changed from higgs-boson capacitor and emerald mox to higgs-boson capacitor and xel'naga carapace

-Recipe cost increased from 575 to 775 (total cost increased from 2900 to 3675)

-Stats changed from +50 INT and +250 health to +50 INT, +550 health and +10% CDR

-Bonus from unique changed from +50% CDR for 20 seconds to +25% CDR for 20 seconds (still +20% max energy as well). <--- a more viable endgame item with +50% CDR would become OP

I guess you don't get it...

 

This item is designed on purpose to be an early-mid game item. In late game you dont care about the mana if you are a caster, and a 25% cdr would not be anything to make that item worthy to waste a slot. Basically because you can do better things with that money. Yamato would be way better, even knowing its passive only gives 15% and it's more expensive, its active is too good. For the stats I would just buy Nitrogen and get another great passive.

This item is a mid game item, when you will have mana problems, and when you will want to abuse of your spells as much as possible, that's why you want the cdr and the mana. Raynor, Rancor, Garamond, Dustin, Cyprus. Everyone of them synergize pretty well with that item because of how easily they can kill and assist, and how much they need a lot of cdr in a teamfight. The decissive teamfights occur in the mid game, when you are fightning to get Aeon/Levi or to push.

You buy that item to be more useful as a caster in the mid game teamfights, and even with that, the item is not a waste in the late game, because a Rancor with 50% cdr in a teamfight is a pain in the ass because of how spammable are his stuns, same with Raynor and his silences, ect.

If you change that item, those heroes would not have that mid game advantage, when casters need to show their powers. With that suggestions, imo, the item would be just useless because no one could afford it quickly enough to be ready for the decisive "get-the-boss" teamfights.

 

Making Shimponic Seed an end game item would just ruin its purpose...

Symphonic is perfect the way it is. I usually get it as my first or second item as Queen.

 

If the game lasts too long I usually sell it for Nitro or Yamato. Although it is still viable in the late game if you are building CDR, with other CDR items, it could potentially reduce cooldowns to a mere seconds during teamfights and change the outcome of the battle.

wanna emphasize what the first answer was....but not too much on cooldown during battles since not every int hero can make that much of a difference with it(though it helps)....as a mainly dedicated intel hero player....ITS THE MANA!!!! cof cof dustin infinite laser + misile ulti laser misile mana comes in so you can repeat...the more energy you have the more you benefit from this item if you have enough cooldown from items to make it count...

 

sometimes this item can be cool even as a late game item with some casters...I discovered this by luck actually...argus + ihan stacks if i remember correctly, and had to get tanky so i bought non intel items that gave cooldown reduction as to compensate the lack of damage per cast with faster casting rounds...

 

I found out that specially if I time my casts correctly(to get kills or to make them count for support so the team can keep killing) the cooldown for low cooldown spells gets almost instant...and I´m not talking only dustin here....I mean....have you ever had a battle as JACKSON where you could cast like 5-6 times Q and E and at start of every battle your ulti is ready to use??? its just ridiculous!!!!

 

granted, I must clonfess it was pub play and both sides were premade except like 2 players that were random...and I also confess that the battles that went wrong could seriously hamper my energy reserves....but the permanent cdr from seed + other items was like a permanent reactor active + keyboardmashing clickfest lol

 

did I mention this item can be bought cheaply as your first item if you want to? even if you don´t really favor it....it gives the same thing that intel chars need early on....intel, life and a passive.....nitro? intel, life and a passive....ihan? intel, life, and a crappy passive but you get to keep the stacks...why should seed be any different....its intel, life and a passive.....if you will benefit from the passive like if you play dustin or other energy craving character you get it....if not you can get the alternatives....like...would egon be better getting seed instead of nitro? didnt think so

 

try different chars and builds for yourself and youll find that seed is a great item to keep you going on teamfights as a permanent item or one you sell later...

 

PS: INFINITE DURATION ULTIMATE TERMINUS ANYONE??? yeah, if you have seen it you know what I´m talking about(disn´t think of this one myself....had my team raped a couple of times and at the end of the game checked how this guy never ran out of energy and then I saw it)

yes, for mana, cause even with cdr gear ull run out of energy and then the spamming stops.....its both,....the cdr and mana that keeps you going

 

Really, really, really late game, the 20% doesn't really matter.

really really really late game any cdr item gives 20% permanent or more if you get 2 of said items...same argument....IMO for reasons I already said seed is best bought early and immediately start teamfighting all game long....20% energe AND cdr per enemy that dies is insane and no item that early can give you both things
