Late Game Mineral Overload

I noticed that when the game reaches the very late stages and it's dragging it's very common that I end up with a sh*t load of minerals, 5K+. Today I ended up having 20200+ in one game (we were 2 vs 4). At this point your item build is supposedly complete, you're not sure anymore what to get. So any advice on what to do with this money when the game reaches this stage? Is there a go-to item build for each hero at this very late stage?

 

I some times just buy the 10 min potions for the bonuses (I don't believe they stack though).

 

A big part of this surplus is the huge amount of creeps and the doubling of the creep mineral bounty at the 45 minutes. This rarely happens in other MOBAs I've played.

All you can do is buy consumables or change your items to better counter your enemies if you want to burn cash, most of the time for me though it just sits there banking up. You must have had a pretty long game to get to 20,000 though, I think the max I have gotten up to is around 10-12k mins.

It was pretty long and it's not very hard to rack up minerals with Queen when one baneling strike can clear an entire super creep wave late game. Plus factor in the leaver bonuses. Both my team mate and I had a similarly absurd amount of minerals.

 

I still don't understand why in AoS your mineral gain increases this dramatically. I mean, I don't think the creep bounty should double like that. I think it's one of the reasons a game can last this long unlike other MOBAs. It allows the team with a disadvantage to suddenly gain momentum and complete its item builds faster than they deserve to.

You are correct, it makes no sense that I'm owning my enemies and I get my build fast, but they just have aoe spells to keep the base clean and they just wait to that stage on the game, when they will be able to reach my item build even when I was fed, and that is absurd

Do potions overlap? I mean can you use blink moth serum and adrenaline for example at the same time? Or only one at a time? I always wanted to know.

 

If I'm not wrong EterNity meant he bought 1 million mana and hp potions so they stack (in time) its like permanent red and blue potion if you spent enought time in the pool buying them

I see no changes. I wake up in the morning and ask myself. Is this game worth playing or should I blast myself. Is the money distribution too high you got that right my kid. Back in the day wed buy a million obs and out them everywhere. Now we just wonder around aimlessly. Givethem guns step back watch them kill each other. We got to fight back that's what Raynor said, two plucks from the blind spot now raynors dead. We can never gono where unless that corrupter spots for us. We got to start making changes.

Ideally youd be constantly switching out items to counter what they build, and just counter what they use to counter your counter. next, you must counter their counter to your counter countering a counter! then after that, you must counter their counter to your counter countering a counter, of the original counter. if you see what im saying.

Except certain counters are uncounterable. Shadowmourne, Parallax, E mantle are all unstoppable.

Shadowmourne hard counter is leech + weapon damage

 

Parallax counter for spellcasters is... throwing it again? O.o

 

Electric Mantle counter is LIVING PAST IT

I'm not really sure, I got it for Zeratul, plus Darwins and having Ihan stakced (im talking about late game) and having 4k hp and still decent leech from Darwins and decent damage from Darwins, Pyre, Sliptide and time Splitter, it was still a pain to 1v1 a Mandrake with barbed...

I would say another spell resist item... Since LZ lost all his natural SR in former patches =( maybe a Contam to boost leech and damage? Since barbed is before mitigation anyways?

I agree that there are no true counters for shadowmourne, but there are things you can do to make it easier, such as get rid of your on hit items (prolly wanna keep foe though) and replace them with crit based items(if they have low armor), or change to a sunflaregun.

It be cool if there was a give money to ally system. I just played a game where i was full items [fed like sh*t], by the time enemy team was about at 2/3 high tier items and i just had a floating 6K minerals. It wasn't even a super long game. Its just that iwas fed and i got all the kills and was the only one able to get them. >_<. and when i mean give money to allies system. I mean like after 30 minutes, and for every 5 minerals you give to an ally, they only get 1 mineral so it can't be absurdly abused early or mid game. This way if one ally is drastically behind, then you can support him, because most of the time, it would just be better for you to have that 5000 minerals than your ally have 1000. Of course that could still be broken :)
