What key would you suggest to set it on? I currently have mine on space bar, because of its size, and the fact that I can use my thumb for it, without taking my hand of my other skill hotkeys, but the downside is that it centers the map on my hero, and activates often when I'm just typing.

a lot of people use the ` key because how close it is to qwer , but i personally use an extra button on my mouse.

I propose we make it mandatory to have a least i7 quad core computer with 50m/10m internet connection and auto banning people with over 50 ms ping so tired of annoying people lags every game or complaining about lag or using lag as excuse for bad game-play. It also will reduce the scrubs who join a lobby and pending forever.

I think that we've had several good people who might have been turned off of Mumble or the game itself if the community was that strict about it, since they started out in mumble either never or almost never having it. Hope it isn't implemented even if there is a majority opinion that it should be. Push-to-talk should be strongly encouraged but not forced.

I guess, if you like crashes and dislike push to talk.

Skype has way less latency, and I've never had a crash with it (except for when my internet has flobed up), actually crashed more with mumble than skype. Push to talk isn't a problem as long as you don't play with retards :D

Also, push to talk IS mandatory on mumble, at least it always was. I remember John (I think) got banned from mumble when we played the first EU vs NA games, because he didn't have push to talk, and it was the first time we used mumble.

It isn't exactly rude to not use push-to-talk, but if you are not using push-to-talk you better have headphones and not a headset, or have audio output be low enough so that your mic doesn't pick it up

Hearing one eat and breath and chew gum or whatever it is... is very, very annoying. Also, the same with echo.

Well, I'm not using push to talk and I don't have a headset. However I've never caused any echo as far as I know. Its all about good adjust of your mic sensitivity. And if I need I can always turn my mic off for few seconds. It would be hard to me to get used to using push to talk now

Afaik Sype has a push-to-mute button but not a push to talk. Maybe I am wrong...

The main issue i've seen recently are the guys who echo because they use their speakers for sound. Skype would'nt change the dynamics much because of the lack of headsets. In skype the background noise isn't as noticeable unlike mumble where you can hear all sorts of things in the background. Essentially skype has a much clearly quality. The poor sound quality of mumble is why it should (and always has sort of been) mandatory that you use the push to talk as soon as you sign up for mumble. (The next sort of mandatory thing you do is get rid of that annoying taskbar that shows who's talking on the top right corner).
