Spooky
Sooner or later every dps hero will get Masamune. Basically it gives u sth like almost permanent Haste talent - additional 25% timescale. Isn't it too much? Original design was to make it costly 'risk' item with great benefits. But now there is no 'risk' factor here. Negative physical resistance for high armor AGI heroes? Its nothing. There is no reason why dps hero shouldn't get it. And everyone know how ridiculous heroes like Darpa, Nova, Boros, Leo, LZ, Tychus and so on become after they finished building it. I think negative physical resistance should go back into negative spell resistance and make item more balanced. At least it force players to think twice before they decide to get it when there is Cyprus in enemy team... zeeeend
I agree it needs some kind of nerf.Lz and tychus can get it without takeing more dmg due to their abl. And if i recall correctly it used to be 15% timescale instead of 25%

Dietdrpepper
An option would be to make the debuff spell damage instead of physical as most heroes who would get it already have higher physical resist opposed to spell resist. Revolution
it used to have -20% spell resist, but that makes the item more of a liability. not even a risk/reward item.. if it gives -20% spell resist you will die without a doubt to any caster instantly. Dietdrpepper
@ revolution  Before, unless I am remembering wrong, it was -20% to both phys and spell. Then they buffed it by removing the spell portion. Maybe 20% is too high which could very well be true. However, the physical damage amp really doesnt seem to be doing the job. They could increase it but that seems a little counterproductive too. IDK, its a tough call.
Rem
Increasing the physical amp wouldnt do much, so either decrease the time scale to say 3% a hit (Ie 15%) Or add a spell dmg amp back on it perhaps at 10% or so since 20 was too strong. SKyExiaLinoz
god... here we go again, just because someone owned you using a masenume and you werent able even to do a simple cry before you die all starts saying is an OP item... the item is good, if youre not playing a hero able to use this item, then start using one and own the enemy... Banzaiguy
Can someone test out whether the decrease in physical resist is linear or multiplicative? If it's the latter, Masamune's disadvantage wouldn't be that significant. For example, a guy with 50% P.resist only gets a 10% real decrease in his overall physical resist. Eliwan
I remember people saying it was multiplicative. I think Whale was the one who tested it, but I'm not sure.

Its reply to my opening post? If yes then u have no idea what are u talking about, u can't even put me in right context... Â Â in inhouses the item basically allows the other enemy carry to destroy them 20% faster with proper focusing.. thats mainly why i never buy the item.. lets take zeratul for an example.. my end game build is 2x timesplitters, agressors guise, darwins might, electric mantle, bhm or parallax if needed. i output around 500 dps i believe with this build not including the backstabs. i have no need for the item especially if a nova comes along while i have it and just rapes me from the amp.. 20% physical resistance debuff is almost nothing. AGI carry death is mainly because of spell damage and true damage. Physical damage is small part of whole damage he got, usually. Amplifying it by 20% doesn't change too much. Besides Masamune doesn't only increase dps by 25%, but movement speed as well. It decrease cooldowns and debuffs duration. Its huge buff. Higher movement speed allows u to micro hero better, u can be more aggressive and move back if there is a need. Its obviously the best item for dps heroes there is. In inhouses very often u can hear 'I have Masamune now, gg'.

Allstar
I enjoy terrorizing Nova's or Darpa's or w/e DPS player's in pubs. Then again I play Drake and usually have 5-6k life when they get their Masamune. My friend plays a glass cannon build though, and I wouldn't be surprised if he eventually posts his own Masamune hate thread.
Hubert
its quiet expensive though, the only thing that makes it powerful is its speed buff and that can be countered.
