A couple of Suggestions to mostly Mumble and a few to balancing.

I'm a newby on mumble and played a few games, winning about half of them.

I noticed there are a couple of issues with mumble that can be rather annoying

1) A lot of the time, you have to get on right as a group is almost done with a game. It can be rather annoying, as you have to wait up to 50 minutes or longer for a game. It isn't always like that and sometimes it can be very nice where you can get a game started right away.

2) [For newbys] Mumble's channels don't look very newby friendly, as half the channels look like Clan names and can be misleading and confusing.

3) Amount of people on Mumble may be misleading. You will note it will say like 52//70 people. MEaning 52 are on the Aeon of Storms Mumble chat servers. Well really, 70% of the people are AFK, meaning that there are usually only around 18 people who are truely active in chat. Enough to start a game, sure, but when you get around mid day and there are 38 people, it may be misleading when you find out that 36 of those 38 are really AFK.

4) Mumbles are can be nice and helpful, but it really discourages going any time of outside build. You have to get it 'approved,' and if it is an outside type build, if you fail at it once [regardless if it was successful a different time], majority of the time, it will be shut down and you will nearly be forced to go the Recommended Mumble Item build, [slightly changes in item comp, usually only the utility items tho]. [Normally, an Eletrical mantle, Parallax, and a Shrapnel//Warpshard//Lockbox//Impact Dial [utility].

5) Only a very selected amount of heroes are suggested. I rarely see a variety of heroes out in mumble. I was surprised to see in mumble that there wasn't really a variety, almost to same the variety in pub, if not less. In Pubs, you nearly see all AGI heroes, few INT, and few STR. In mumble, you see the common, ---> Vorpal, Tosh, Micro, Mandrake, Toxi, Grunty, Cain, Balrog, Darpa, Nova, Erekul, Rancor, sometimes Rory [Primarily just STR heroes]. I noticed that majority of the heroes are just STR heroes, with a few INT and AGI heroes [and usually rare to see a variety of INT AGI heroes picked, as usually the same INT//AGI heroes are picked].

6) I am impatient, so this is more of my problem, but after you successfully get an IH game going, it is still surprisingly long to START the game. In many of my experiances, the time it takes to set up the game [Primarily Draft], takes about nearly as long as half of the entire game. Usually a game lasts 50 minutes? Draft can last 25 minutes. I find it rather suprising that an Average "Team rage" pub game [Where you make enemy pub team rage fairly early game] is actually shorter than the set up time for an IH Mumble game. 3G definately shorts the time, but still can be fairly long.

On the bright side - Mumble games can definately be really fun. It is also especially fun if your winning lols. The games do challenge your skills, and if you can get into a team quickly [within 10 - 20 minutes of waiting], it is definately worth the wait. I do suggest you buy a mic. I currently don't have a mic [because i thought i'd never join mumble or some type of mic needed game], but I am kinda regretting it and will buy a mic EVENTUALLY. Another thing is that your team is very reliable and you have to be on your toes at all times. I like mumble a lot, but i think there are some things that could be improved. (It may seem like I am more criticizing mumble, but note that it is really easy to criticize as you can nearly name anything at fault, while explaining something is good, you don't need to say to much as you tend to repeat urself, unless you write a response to a critical statement.)

Note: [if items are being ignored, it probably needs to be changed or buffed. Ppl may say no no no don't buff it, but if no one is buying it, then why would you say that. Sure it may be good, but obviously it ain't good enough if every other item is more prefered. I'm saying this because, a lot of mumble people have specific builds, and ever getting other items usually is bad. Many say, why would you ever get an arcbound, not worth it. Why would you ever get bandit artifice, that item sucks and ain't worth it too. I think that is a message that those items need a slight change to be more favorable. Note: When something is OP, people tend to go more towards that. Example: Queen bug where you had infinate ultras. That is definately OP, and everyone uses it because of it. If you have something where you get the advantage, obviosuly you would get it. If you claim an item is OP and you [or others] aren't getting it, maybe it ain't really OP and you just claim it is. Pyre was considered the best item in the game. The results? Almost everyone in the game that did any AA weap damage would get the item without question.

ZOMG HI

Thanks for reading :D

I would like to see your input on the situation.

[Altho i have to say i'm a hypocrite in this sense as i will write a lot but I tend to ignore the large written things. I know if someone else wrote this, i would probably just skim this, or kinda ignore it, and read the shorter posts hoping they summerized it for me. Just saying so you know ;). As the person's personally or the way they do things reflects their opinions. You know that if someone is usually a troll, or is generally a nub, usually their suggestions for balancing isn't as good as the more skilled people. Just saying :D ]

ONCE AGAIN! THANK YOU FOR READING IF YOU ACTUALLY READ!

That is not suggestions i guess

Yea, it is more listing the problems, without labeling a way of fixing it. I'd assume that the people on mumble who have more experiance would be better at fixing it than me. Currently, I can criticize how it works, but I don't have enough experiance to ask to change it. Kind alike if you play a hero, you can criticize how your experiance with the hero was like [blank] and counterable by [blank], but if you haven't played other heroes, you shudn't suggest on how to change it since changing said hero will indirectly effect how the other heroes will be vs said hero.

And going that far may be stretching it

I Agree that the hero selection is really limited on mumble. During one of the more recent games I played, I enjoyed a refreshing comp of unix, garamond, shadow, lurker, and ?balrog?. The other team had a standard comp but hey, we still managed to win lol.

@Chimera, lol. Yes highdrater with his fail AA jax.

People get so used to countering specific heros and builds its always fun to switch it up. Catch them looking foolish, and frankly some just cant adjust outside of their comfort zone of "perfect build."

I sometime see drafting pointless if we have players worse than some pubbers in the ih game. I thought draft is to make the ih game even more competitive, but when u have players that can only play limited amount of heroes, it just give me headache.. thats why i usually just alt tab and do other stuff and come back when they're done doing the draft. thats why sticking with just 3g is better in a lower tier games. Just ban w/e and pick w/e, thats my strategy when im the captain :)
