Sunflare Gun OP

I was a drake with 85% spell resist, 6k hp, and a cyp could still one shot me with a flare gun + his skills.

 

I dont know about that there must have been some other factors at work. i mean you did say OP skill in game but if waht you say is true that means his ult still did 4100? was it a 1v5? I have used sunflare with Rancor at times and i hit tanks even with just a couple SR items, 1 usually being electric mantle and i barely scratch the surface. Assumed 5v5 not sure how big of impact this actually has.

sfg is an expensive item, and one of the most expensive of int, i think the active is ok with that prize, because 60 int and 40 dmg + the leech isnt what a int hero would like to have (i think), only the int, and you can get more int + other things for less prize (gravity, argus, ihan, nitrogen..)

no it was a 3v2, i was on the team of 2. I also miscalculated my spell resist %. Not sure how, but i did lol.

 

I had parallax - 18%

Spell Buffer - 20% +15%

Electric Mantle - 20%

Drake E Skill - 20%

Talent - 7%

Total = 100% exactly.

Technically with 100% spell resist, i should be delt 0 spell damage(other then the 35% from gravity edge) (like boros 100% spell resist buff from spell storm) But im not sure why his 100% spell resist is different then my 100% spell resist. any explanations?

 

The cyprus only had gravity, argus, reactor, forget the name but the 50 int 250 hp cd reduction item, IHAN buffs(not the item) caraspace, and a taser. The rancor on their team had the SFG, and he would only SFG me and cyp would one shot.

Also, remember that Gravity Edge turns 35% of his spell damage into true damage. So, of the 65% that is still spell damage, you're taking 28% of it while the 35% that is true damage, you have no resistance against. 0.28 * 0.65 + 0.35 = 0.53; you're taking a little over half the base damage. Also, last time I checked, there's a slight bug with Argus and Gravity Edge with a little bit of extra amplification thrown in somewhere. It's marginal, but it's something. Rancor probably had at least Argus and Gravity, so you take 1.2k right off the bat. After that, Cyprus Ult + Rancor Nuke/Snipe combo and it's night-night Drake. What you need at that point is a way to shut one of them down. Tazer and some way to detect Rancor would help, but, ultimately, you have to rely on your team. Nearly any item is OP when you get ganked 2v1. Never take a fair fight. Either stack the odds in your favor or amscray.

well im sure cypus had argus crystal, gravity edge and yamato reactor, plus talent for 5% damge. and if he was end game build im sure he had about 600 int. so his sunflare gun hit about 2850 ulti probably hit around 3300 then his rock explosion move for about 1k. and if he had starfury thats another 900. then 400 weapon damage.

2817 of all that damage would of been true damage from gravity edge and almost 1500 after spell resist taken off. then probably 200 weapon damage. then when u add in the 14% from leaver bonus your basically sitting at 5200 damage taken. close enough for a 1 shot

some sugestions....if they DONT TASER YOU....get that item that gives weapon damage + active that gives 1000 shields+spell resist...that combined with lifetech sometimes does the trick depending if you have enough total hp to make the auto ability worth it...lifetech or not, the other item may not sound drakeish enough but its the best counter to spell nuke combos late game, along with a well timed defensive talent use but im talking gear here.

 

also like someone said, pick fights that favor you...you are doing it right getting organic and lots of spell resist items, but if enemies combo to get you you will die...specially raynor cyprus combo....its like mega amplify spell nukes.....whats next....dustin joining the rampage? if they got a team and use it so should you...that being said, since they are not debuff heroes parallax is not thaaat good. maybe taser better....spell resist + shut that cyprus so he cant passive heroic fast cooldown his spells to kill you....also if you did get lifetech you will want cyprus shut while you regen health protected by talent or active shield.

 

I´d like to know what other items you had at the time....

ps. tea extract ALL GAME LONG....that thing is sooo cheap for what it does its like mandatory

 

also I have not tried this but if pure survival is the thing, you could stack many organics and lifetech + eternal drive the s h t out of it for healths sakes

+ talent/shields active

No taser on Drake when they have a Cyprus that is fully geared? How do you expect to ever kill him if he can just blink away with impunity. A decent Cyprus can just blink in and wall wave you over and over again till you are low enough to finish off if you have no way of preventing him from blinking away.

 

I don't even play this game anymore and I just find it interesting you won't get a taser because cyprus needs to blink in at relatively close range to use his combo and at that point you just taser him and interrupt his combo and then lance and kill as he can't just instablink away at that point.

 

I mean I don't even play this game anymore, but at least I know that taser is cheap and an ez counter to Cyprus.
