Entaro.Tassadar - Bugs or Intended?

This is not a balance thread based on whether Tassadar is op/up. I would just like to question whether these few "issues" on tassadar are intended by the developers.

1. Tassadar cannot effectively deny creeps due to his q. Can we possibly get the option to turn q off? This would solve a multitude of problems. As it stands now Tassadar cannot attack creeps if he wants to save his mana up for ult or w which seems somewhat oppressive. I am talking early game here. Late game mana isnt an issue although his q still is a problem if you want to go AA tassadar.

2. I do not believe Tassadar's clone receives his benifits from talents. I am not sure on this one but I do know that his clone is "slower" than he is when I use the speed talents in both defense and utility. I also do not think he receives the mana regeneration from the talents as his mana doesnt seem to regenerate at the same rate as my hero (it is drastically lower)

Please note I do not feel tassadar is UP. In fact I think he is quite strong with correct play. I just would like to understand whether these are bugs or not, and if so whether there are plans to address them.

AA tass relies heavily on his Q, to combo with BHM/Stars

Being able to toggle it would be nice, but honestly you should just get 5 mana pots and then get the 400 mineral +200 mana ring if you are somehow going through them too fast.

Even going AA you should still use that ring to IHAN at some point anyways so its not going to be a wasted investment.

+He doesnt need HP pots since he has a built in life drain, so you should have extra minerals to spend on MP relative to other heros

2. Yes, clone doesn't benefit from talents. I think it is bug.

Its a bug that affects all clones (bandits too)

They do not receive talents and they do not copy any active buffs including bonuses from the pot items and TS.

My assumption is that talents are treated as a buff behind the scene and that's why they aren't being copied.

Not sure if this will ever get fixed, it has been posted about before....

I would really like it if the pots and TS as well as talents affected clones. Its kind of bs that getting sight ruins clone play by making it impossible to hide the real tass

The Tassadar specific clone bug is that it doesn't regen mana properly:

1) you can stand clone in base and it wont regen mana in pool, even though it does regen HP

2) mana regen rate is always slower than your main hero, even with no regen items or talents, so INT based regen may not be applying at all

3) with regen items mana regen rate does not appear to increase at all on clones

I would kill for the mana issue to be fixed, since I usually just kill off the clone when it runs out (regen takes days) and suck up the CD time

I suppose you could pot it, but that's not really effecient since it would waste pots you need for yourself

EDIT:

This thread should really be moved to bug reports mods ;)

Good that you asked before posting in bugs though :)

The Q thing is intended, though Whale and I brought it up to Ecko/Red the moment Tass was released and asked for a change, which didn't happen. It ultimately requires either A: Good timing on the part of the Tass player, or B: not getting the Q skill, which isn't really necessary anyhow tbh.

The clone isn't supposed to gain the talents, I believe so that there is one (albeit somewhat difficult somtimes) way of determining which is which outside of just level.

Pretty sure they admitted its a bug in other threads, they just haven't gotten around to fixing it.

You can tell which is which anyways bc the weapon damages aren't the same (which is dumb)

Also if tass gets sight or uses the pots (which you kind of have to at some point in most games)

Both of these have always bugged the crap out of me

you aren't supposed to know if its real or a clone that's the whole point ;)

@Allectris,

Even with perfect timing you cannot deny as well as needed because you cant deny 2 creeps in a row. You will get the first one but miss the next if both are low around the same time. As far as not getting q at all because it is "unnecessary", well that seems ridiculous to me that to deny creeps like every other character in the game you must abstain from getting one of your skills completely. That just doesnt make sense. Besides the AOE on q assists well with farming, its just not good when low on mana or when denying. I understand it isnt game breaking and doesnt make tassadar useless by any means, its just something I think should be fixed.

Agreed.

And perhaps the clone thing is a bug, but when Tass originally came out he could use active items so a person could just buy a hp and mana pot and keep cloning them. In addition, the clone could sell items so functionally it gave Tass infinite money. I'd rather have a bit lower HP than give every tass infinite money and pots etc.

Technically he can get money faster than other heros

Clones proc gold +10 effects (both bandits and tass) because uniques are only unique to 1 hero and clones are considered a separate hero

But yeah clones procing item actives while amazing would be kind of OP (double solarflare etc)

Still kind of think its unfair that clones cant proc shadowmourne since that would really make bandits artifice more useful ;)
