Nearing end game and boros being unstoppable, i sell up and just try and combat the boros from just killing me in one button press ®. No i wasnt near creeps and all the bla bla bla im going to get from you fuking flogs that post on every thread. JUST GOT ITEMS to stop his ulti from wiping me dead. SO i got mantle, barbed, carapace, chilling, spell resist, and a lock box. SO i run out to get ultied one on one. I actually lockboxed after his second hit only to come back and recieve his last 3 hits and kill me. Now the point of this thread is this. If some one has high spell damage you get spell resist. If some one has high dps you get barbed, a mantle and armor. If some on is cloaked you get TS. There seems to be a counter for everything. EXCEPT boros ulti. Ironsights Posted January 10, 2013 Report Share Posted January 10, 2013 Boros in his ulti is pretty BS...thankfully creeps DO counter it for you, so that is one answer. Another is to have some serious HP and regen. However, the best bet to fighting him alone, without creeps, is a taser--provided that you have the raw power to kill him before the silence is up. For that to work, you have to tase him before he pops the Q, and then slaughter him before silence wears off. Its tricky, but doable. heimdallr Posted January 10, 2013 Report Share Posted January 10, 2013 did you check boros gear? some boros like to go all int for spell damage....others just forget int and go aa.....others some weird hybrid...my point is....if he happens to go spell damage and not aa...he may have even got a gravity...then why get barbed....youd be better getting more spell resist and hp specially in the case of gravity getting hp since it kinda screws all spell resist... your mistake was this 1) lockbox if you dont have the ability to resist some of his hits 2) barbed and chilling....if he goes aa with leech barbed alone is worthless....chilling good for the aa but wont help counter ulti... you wouldve been better getting spell buffer and another organic/Force of entropy and instead of lockbox even lifetech can save you if he almost kills you asuming you have enough raw hp to make use of the ability(hence the importance of not getting all spell resist but some good hp items)...I don´t pull this suggestions out of my a...I have done this as int characters and survived the ulti no creeps just standing there this suggestions are for spell damage based boros. you gotta understand that one thing that sets boros appart from other melee carries is that he can go aa like other melee chars but his abilities make it posible for him to go as a melee agi char that dishes spell damage to kill....period!!!...you just check his gear to know if you need more anti carry gear or if you need more hp spell resist gear... about your main question: considering the story you tell us that was obviously "buu huuu qq dunno how to counter buuu huuu" boros ulti is fine as is IMO. It forces other characters to get spell resist and hp instead of going all glass cannon. He is a good counter to any squishy int chars and squishy agi chars. Characters like him make good players not go al dps and therefore the game becomes less of a quickdraw contest. If boros spellstorms then ulties he will win the quickdraw contest. Then good players adapt to not try to draw quicker but to survive the first shots and then own him after he is done. Spell based boros is melee but works like a caster nuker meaning once he throws all his spells he cant do much but wait for the next spellstorm but thats it. Midknight Posted January 10, 2013 Report Share Posted January 10, 2013 Try bandit's artifice. Boros finds you solo and ultis but suddenly there are 3 times the targets. Also, if you have some source of cloaking, he can't start his ult on you while you're cloaked (though, he can continue it if he's already started). Electric Mantle is a good anti-AA item but not always the best against Boros because spell storm will eliminate the damage feedback and only an idiot Boros will AA you without storm on if he can help it. And it won't do anything when he omnismashes either, assuming storm is on. Lifetech nanosuit or taser is usually a better spell resist item if Boros is your only problem. Chilling artifact is still an underpowered item I would only get if playing an aura mule (gives 9 armor, but then so does black hole magnum which actually gives 10). Spell buffer (i assume that is what you mean) is also bad against Boros because it gives no raw health (same with chilling). Lockbox is a pointless item as well if your goal is to tank his ult, so you really only use that defensively if you have a squishy int build and you also need an evasion item like impact dial or warp shard because even if you lockbox yourself you still get owned by his AA attack when you reappear unless you can blink away. Barbed is also a good item, but obviously not for Boros' Q+R. Since I see you playing Dustin a lot, you should have nitrogen and superheated mantle which gives you a nice defensive slow aura so that after Boros omnismashes he can't just AA you to death as easily (Dustin is all about kiting after all). So this is what you will want on Dustin I think (in pubs at least). Superheated Mantle - Allows Dustin to farm like a monster Ihan Crystal Khaydarin Absorber (extremely important) Nitrogen Refit (slow aura with superheated, health, and int) Organic Carapace - Raw health and sustain Barbed Plating - Good for defense after he has burned his Q+R. Last item should be either taser or axe if he has darwins or you can get electric mantle in general if you don't have the right kind of team to burst him down after tasering him. Hence, you should also agree that this thread is a duplicate thread and you'd have no qualms about me closing it. Boros hasn't received any significant changes since the last Boros threads, so you're just going to find all the arguments in there being restated here.
