hi I'm fairly new to the game and I just wanted to know, in your opinion, who is the most played and least played hero in the game. I think the most played would be either zeratul or shadow as I have seen one on BOTH teams 6 games straight now, its becoming slight unnerving

Most agility heroes are played a lot during public games, with the exception of Tassadar and the Ling. Don't be unnerved, the only reason is because they're good "solo" heroes in pub (public). In Inhouse (IH) games you will see a far greater variety of heroes being selected, probably a higher % of support heroes/tanks. Mainly because in a good IH you need full use of more roles than just straight up carry.

hmm okay, i might choose to master someone else then

In IH I think they like, darpa, rory, Jim, rancor, drake, micro and chuck and a few others. Don't be like me tho and try to "master" one hero. I pretty much only know how to play Boros lol. Which is bad bc that hero u master might get banned in IH then u suck lol. So I'm trying to learn tycus and unix now.

thanks for that, at the moment i am trying to master roulette jackson because he isnt played as much and seems unique, so far i havemt managed to get positive with him, a few games neutral and 1 or 3 negative but never positive :C

Well, if you like going mostly for kills try this mostly int build:

(1) Starter items - Some people like a pendant and a space battery, but I prefer going leeching, lost treasure, and goggles to start for the early game sustain and the fact you get fully geared a lot faster than the enemy. Sell em later on as you run out of inventory for your late game items.

(2) Superheated Mantle - Helps your farm like a ton. Just stand in creep wave until creeps are all at 40% or so health, then link and run to break the link. Against neutral creeps, if you use beam on the boss creep, the explosion plus the mantle burn will efficiently clear the camp fast. Superheated is also good on Jackson because even though he is a ranged hero, his skills are meant to be executed at melee range. The health and armor are of course good as well.

(3) Lockbox - Since the nerf to Jackson's ultimate where it now has a 1 second channel time, using warp shard/SHC to initiate is not quite as good as before and impact dial is a no, no now when using mass effect, nevertheless with lockbox you just lockbox an enemy get into mass effect range and wait a second and then shortly before lockbox wears off you use mass effect and you pull the enemy hero to you before he has a chance to blink or counter you with a spell (timing is everything). This is kinda like the cheesy way a lot of Gara players use lockbox to stunlock you with missiles so their exploding SCV's can surround you for a cheese kill with no chance of countering (unless you have a parallax handy and that is not always reliable). It also makes using Yamato a lot easier since you have plenty of time to activate Yamato after lockboxing an enemy. This one item will make a huge difference in scoring kills with Jackson.

(4) Ihan Crystal - Buy it and hold onto it for at least 10 minutes to get the permanent intelligence and health stacks and then sell it. Enough said.

(5) Nitrogen Retrofit - Adds more health you need and gives you a nice slow aura with your W and superheated acting in tandem. Also of course makes it harder for enemies to escape from your REQ combo.

(6) Yamato Reactor - I prefer this item before argus or edge, because the time scale helps burn out his beam faster for the explosion at the end, making it more likely you will get a kill. Also adds a little more health and armor (something edge and argus don't do).

(7) Argus Crystal - 100 int and 20% more spell damage. No need explaining why you get this in a mostly int build on Jackson.

(8) Gravity Edge - At this point in the game many heroes will have significant spell resist and gravity edge will essentially increase your damage against a hero with 50% spell resist from 50% damage to 65% damage. That might not sound like a lot, but everything is relative. Also, it is unlikely you can kill a tank outright even with this build and yamato activated so be wise about who you attack and when.

(9) If the game drags on long enough and both sides are maxed, sell your lockbox and buy an organic carapace for the sustain it provides because you don't want to have to interrupt a push to go back to base because you have no way of healing yourself through either leech or health regen items like carapace.

The other nice thing about this build is that after getting superheated, lockbox, ihan, and nitrogen retrofit you can choose to go for a tanky support build on Jackson instead of a hard int build if it makes sense to do so (like if they have a Zeratul who will always be able to get first strike advantage on you). In that case, replace argus, grav edge, and yamato with carapace, barbed, and either electric mantle, lifetech nanosuit, or dark steel titan. Get lifetech nanosuit if you are the only tank on the team or if they have mostly casters, get electric mantle if they have a Shadow or Zera or other troublesome melee hero, and get DST if they are mostly ranged AA carries. You can also get shrapnel cloak if you have reliable backup, but it won't do you much good since your spell combo won't be strong enough to disable heavy leech on an AA hero, and electric mantle at least gives you an extra stun before stun baton owns you. Basically soak as much damage as you can and hope your allies don't puss out in battle.

okay this gave way to a lot of thought onto the game, I honestly feel that I understand it better now.

Quick question, I play on the oceanic server, how can I find an IH to play in (on?). The concept interests me. When playing league or DoTA i can only stand playing draft pick or captains mode, I really don't like the randomness of the normal mode of finding a game... if that makes any sense
