  1. 1. When do you get Ihan Crytal?

    • Early Game.First of my main items. ( Get it at 15-25 min)
      28
    • Mid Game. When I have some core items (1-2) of my build. 30-45 min
      7
    • Late Game. When I have most of my build item (4-6 or so). >45 min.

Miss the option of earlier than 10th minute :P

I always skip Duran's and go straight for Ihan on a number of heroes.

I think Duran items are horribly OP for their price (compare Duran's Machette vs the 825 Agility item that gives +18 agility or Duran's Buckler vs the 825 STR item) and don't buy them as a result. They should cost 790 at least not 650.

in my personal opinion,

for a caster, id get it 4th

my talents are 0-3-3

id start off with blinkmoth with saphire mox and potions or durans pendant and potions.

first i rush higgs boson.

this will give me decent INT to intimidate opponent heros, and farm creeps efficiently. as well as increasing mana pool.

by this time blinkmoth would run out.

then id get 2/3 of GP10 items. most of the time sabre and goggles for leech and HP.

then id get ihan components.

normally the fastest id get ihan would be 22min game clock. average is about 24-25 min late would be 28min,

2500minerals at midgame for an item that snowballs can be detrimental. coz for 10min, your oppoents roughly has a 2500mineral advantage over you. take care during this 10minutes.

after 10min, you become slightly OP as you will have a 60INT and about 350Health advantage for half the cost of IHAN, Now you start to pull away slowly. also taking note you gain 10minerals every 10 sec.

i tried getting ihan first, it didnt turn out too well coz i was being manhandled by opponents early game.

i also tried getting GP10 items first. it delayed ihan even more because DPS is rather low for farming creeps.

basically it boils down to what is important to you, early game or mid game.

I Never get Ihan early game. And rarely mid game. I personally get it Late game. The reason? I don't really need health, and it doesn't provide much early game help. It basicly is Energy Regeneration and Energy itself. Sure it gives you stacks, but the fact they are pernament, you can get them any time. I usually don't sell ihan right when I get stacks because the HP and stacks are useful. I like getting Argus and Gravity First. Usually Ihan is about the 5th item I buy.

Reason I don't like Ihan, is the fact that if you get it, your getting Argus and Gravity later, which can cost some serious Spell Damage. Argus and Gravity also provide massive amount of Energy and good energy Regen. They also make killing creeps much easier.

Sometimes I get it as a 4th item. And rarely a 3rd item, only if I need the Hp. Occasionally, I forget and get it as a 6th item :P

I am gonna answer since I open the " forgotten Poll"

Basically I get it late game. Rarely mid. Never soon.

Why?

It increases your stats slowly stacking by time ( Other items increases it while you are getting it)

It is a disadvantatge on power capabilities in front of other int items.

Health is the only reason in advantage vs other items early-mid game, lategame it is just a nice extra.

Then I get it mid-late game, first I get core and some of my utility items.

Disadvatge on late for lacking of Ihan is true since it is a 7th item, but we have to consider about people with same number of items. if one get that item as 6th, 7th he will get 10 min disadvantatge and just in this case it is true.

I usually go with it second or third for my casters, regen gp5 thenn ihan or argus depending on whether i need the burst or the hp more initially.

Makes me able to withstand other casters and AA heros significantly better than most people expect, and with my passive regens of ho/health i never have to return to base until im readdy to shop letting me get ahead in exp and items.

I never get it on the STR heroes I play, because I almost never get a chance to max out on items, since they neither farm, nor kill exceptionally well. I get it superbly late on agility heroes, right before my last item, because at that point it doesn't make as much difference, and since I will get my last item right at about the time I get max stacks, I can sell it as soon as I get the bonus. Casters is a tough one. In theory, they benefit most, but I can't rush for it, because it slows down core items like Argus, Gravity Edge, Yamato, Nitrogen, Star Fury, etc.... Once I am in the position where I already have the key items, and usually debating if I should get more int or defensive items, I get this.

Strong Early Game = earlier and higher creep score

earlier and higher creeps score = stronger late game

so Strong early game = strong late game

Ihan does not give strong early game. It takes time to get it and takes time for it to provide substantial stats for its recipe cost. It also provides no utility.

I only get Ihan when I have extra cash, and I can start farming at ease with my other items. :)

Otherwise, Ihan is costly and takes a while to get. Rushing it takes time, and doesn't provide the benefits of creep as other items.

If I have other items, I can just take out an entire creep wave in a second, and in team battles, I'm more useful. After the team battles, I can get some easy cash and buy Ihan in a a short while.

The main purpose for Ihan crystal is it gives you perma stats. Well Perma stats on an item don't really matter until you sell it. If you get it as a first item, you ain't going to sell it until much much later. Purpose of selling Ihan is to have more Space and keep the stats. So I buy it when I'm going to start running out of room, and sell it when I do run out of room (Which is usually 20 minutes within each other).

So even if you sell the item you keep the stats that you have acquired with the item? All this time I just assumed you lose the stacks if you sell the item esp. since you lose the stacks upon death?

They are Pernament. You do not lose upon death either. That is only the snow ball items. It is the reason why Ihan is considered a 7th item. Because you gain item benefits without having it in your inventory.
