Name: Howard Duke

 

Portrait: Edmund Duke (if possible, if not -> Shock Division)

 

Unit Base: Shock Division

 

Type: Strenght (Bruiser, Disabler, Pusher, Ranged)

 

 

Lore: „Sergeant Howard Duke is the eldest son of General Edmund Duke. He was taught how to deal up with a tank and was „good ol'fashioned disciplined“ by his father. Howard was recruited by Mengsk and became a part of the most secret special forces of the Dominion. After his father's death Duke's son have sworn to revenge him and started hunting Kerrigan. Since then he became the most cruel zerg eliminator. When the Brood War ended, Howard continued to seek his revenge and started killing every one, stopping him from his goal – no matter of race. This led to his banishment on the planet Tarsonis. After few weeks he managed to escape the planet and the Korpulu sector and started living as hermit. Noone ever heard of him, despite the sudden missing of some whole armies...“

Abilities:

 

 

Heroic Active (V): Switch Mode (Toggle)

 

Duke's tank switches modes after a short duration

 

Tank Mode: Available to move and use all but The Heavy Shell (R) abilities.

 

Siege Mode: Immobilizes the tank, gaining more range, attack damage and splash on the basic attacks at a cost of attack speed. Enchances the effect of the abilities.

 

Switch Time: 1.5 – 1 seconds (Based on Duke's level)

 

Bonus Damage: 25% - 150% Weapon Damage (Based on Duke's level)

 

Bonus Range: 1 + 0.15 * LVL u (or for 1-4 u based on Duke's level)

 

Splash Range: 0.5 u

 

Attack speed loss: +0.5 attacks/second

 

 

Q: Bombling Site (Target Area, Cast range: 6/6/7/7 u, 2 u AOE)

 

After 0.25 seconds launches bomblings in an area, damaging and slowing all the enemy units, caught in the area for duration.

 

Siege Mode: Increases the cast range and the area by 3 u and 1.5 u respectively.

 

Duration: 5 seconds

 

Spell Damage: 10/20/30/40 (+10% INT) per 0.5 seconds period

 

Slow: 15/20/25/30%

 

Cooldown: 24/22/20/18 seconds

 

 

W: Shock Shell (Target Area, Cast range: 6 u, 2/2/3/3 u AOE)

 

Launches a shock shell at a target location, which silences all enemies caught in the impact area for duration as well as dealing damage to them.

 

Siege Mode: Increases the cast range to 9 and silence duration by 1 second.

 

Spell Damage: 30/50/70/90 (+50% INT)

 

Duration: 1.5/2/2.5/3 seconds

 

Cooldown: 20/18/16/14 seconds

 

 

E: Mowie! (Target point)

 

Blows up the ground in a cone shaped area, pushing back all the enemies by 1.5/2/2.5/3 u. Deals minor damage to them.

 

Siege Mode: Push distance is doubled.

 

Physical Damage: 10/15/20/25 (+25% STR)

 

Cooldown: 28/24/20/16

 

 

R: Dropping The Hammer (Only in Siege Mode) (Target area, Cast range: 8/10/12 u, 1.5/2/2.5 u AOE)

 

After 0.5 seconds prepares a massive shell at a target location, exploding on impact, dealing massive damage to the struck enemies, stunning them and making a crater on the location, which lasts for a duration and not letting anything to pass through its walls.

 

Physical Damage: 150/200/250 (+50% STR) (+25% Weapon Damage)

 

Stun Duration: 0.5/1/1.5 seconds

 

Crater Duration: 2/2.5/3 seconds

 

Cooldown: 120/90/60 seconds

 

Blue Gene (R) :

 

Makes the enemy units 1 u away from the crater to jump in it, stunning them aswell and dealing half of the damage to them.

 

 

Masteries:

 

Level 1: +5 Strenght, Agility and Intelligence.

 

Level 2: Reduces the time for switching between modes by 0.5 seconds.

 

Level 3: Increases the slow of Bombling Site (Q) by 15%.

 

Level 4: Increases the push range of Escape Blow (E) by 1 u (2 for Siege Mode).

 

Level 5: +150 Weapon Damage

 

 

Note: Howard is anything but not a coward. His long range makes him great defender when stationed near tower and can take the enemy towers from far away. As in team fights he prefers fighting when the enemy is at one place, thats why Dropping The Hammer (R) makes him exclusive eliminator of grouped heroes and deadly weapon in team fights. His abilities are a bit supportive too because of the stuns and silence. The disadvantages of this hero are that he is slow and fragile. Althought Howard can escape from most enemies with Mowie! (E) when they are close to him, its long cooldown and its minor push distance dont let him escape faster heroes, especially melee carries.

 

Heroes, that would be good with Howard Duke: Mengsk, Rory, Fenix, Akasha, Vulkan, Vorazun, Jackson

 

Heroes, that Howard would be good against: Tbone, Geneva, Lurker (when visible and out of range), Tychus
 

Heroes, that would counter Howard: All Junglers, Darpa

 

(there can be more in all graphs of course)

 

 

P.S.: I'd like to hear the famous Edmund Duke's phrase: „You all need some good ol'fashioned discipline!“ in the voice or when triggering one of his abilities – probably his ult
