General

Commands

- Added 4 new "-" commands that alert allies of missing enemies in game.  (Note: There is a 10 second anti-spam timer for all 3 per team. So please do not misuse this new feature. Also thank you Jomoney for making the suggestion!)

'-mm'  Calls missing mid and pings mid lane on the minimap.

'-mt'Calls missing top and pings top lane on the minimap.

'-mb'Calls missing bot and pings bot lane on the minimap.

 '-ma'Calls missing all and pings map bosses on the minimap.

 

Game Alerts

- Added new unique alerts that trigger when your team's buildings are under attack (Text warning, and minimap ping at building - 15 second anti-spam filter).

- Added new unique alert for usage of Transport and Space Gem by Allies to better differentiate it from regular Allied pings. Additionally now, Enemy teleport pings do not trigger a sound effect, and enemies teleporting with Space Gem or Transport will no longer ping on the minimap their location if you do not have vision over their target location (i.e. they are teleporting to a point behind the fog of war).

 

Game Help

- Updated "Help/Tips" section with a Beginner's Guide to the modern AoS, Glossary and FAQ! (Credit to Muto's Beginner's Guide for providing the blueprint for this endeavor.)

- Added " Buy" tip to inform players on the different shops.

 

Hero Bounty

- Kill mineral bounty for heroes increased to Base * (0.3 + (KDA Multiplier*1.2)) from Base * (0.3 + (KDA Multiplier*0.8)). (Note: The higher your KDA, the more valuable you are now. This value decays over game time).

 

Hero Selection

- Maximum time permitted for Hero Selection increased to 130 seconds from 90 seconds (Note: Creeps, Neutrals, and Runes spawn at approximately 3:00 game time).

 

Sound

- Added custom sequential music soundtrack (Note: The AoS soundtrack will play irrespective of your choice of "race" in the lobby. Enjoy!)

- Added global 'Victory' and 'Defeat' music alerts for Team 1 and Team 2.

 

Terrain

- Various cosmetic adjustments.

 

Structures

- Moved Mid T1 Towers back 1-2u.

- Tower Health rescaled to 3600/3800/4000 from 3500/3750/4000

- Added global sound alerts for destroying Towers and Sanctums.

- Protoss Nexus Prime and Zerg Hivemind now always retain their debuff immunity like all structures  (Fix). 

- Protoss and Zerg Sanctums now have debuff immunity like all structures (Fix).

- Protoss and Zerg Sanctums now have a global bounty of 250 from 150.

- Added highlight tooltips to base and side shops to help with purchasing.

- Base shops now have a minimap icon that matches the side shops to help with navigation.

- Destroying any Suppressors will now notify players in the subtitle (chat area) and inform them of time remaining until they respawn.

 

Primary Creeps

- Super creeps (Ultrahost, Ultralisk, Colossus, and Archon) now deal +150% Bonus Damage against creeps (from 100%) and +100% Bonus Damage against structures (from 150%). 

 

Neutral Creeps

- The Nydus Destroyer, Fireworm, and Yagdra map bosses have been renamed to Primal Daggoth, Greater Daggoth, and Ancient Daggoth. Their buffs have been renamed to Blood of Daggoth, Essence of Daggoth and Wrath of Daggoth.

- Updated Aeon and Daggoth sounds.

 

Talents

Fitness

- Health reduced to 100 from 110.

 

Haste

- Now increases Timescale by 25% for 4s from 20% for 6 seconds.

- Cooldown reduced to 180 from 240.

 

Fortify

- Duration reduced to 2s from 2.25s.

- Damage reduction increased to 80% from 70%.

- Cooldown reduced to 180 from 200.

 

Items

General

- All items with the exception of those that share similar functions now have distinct activation sound cues.

- Many items that offer Health stats have had their Health bonuses reduced in response to the relative ease/cheapness of stacking Health (in particular by STR heroes who have innate physical or spell resistance). Details below.

 

Adamantium Alloy

- Replaced Kinetic Cell component with Space Battery; Now Grants 400 Energy, 3 Energy Regen, and 15% Cooldown Reduction instead of 600 Energy.

- Added 'Replenish 3' Active ability; Consume (12.5% Current Energy), restoring 3x that amount to allies in a 10u radius area around you. 70 second cooldown.

- Armor and Spell Armor reduced from 30 to 24.

- Updated visuals.

 

Adrenaline

- Now grants +7% Weapon Damage from 10% Weapon Damage.

 

Atom Smasher

- Powerstrike 3 unique damage type changed to Physical Damage from Spell Damage.

 

Bandit's Artifice

- Unique Evasion and Weapon Speed bonus increased to 25% from 20%.

- Unique AoE reduced to within 8u of any Enemy Structure from 12u.

 

Blinkmoth Serum

- Now grants +7% Spell Damage instead of +10% Cooldown Reduction.

 

Cauterizer

- Agility increased to 40 from 30.

- Armor reduced to 20 from 24.

 

Contamination Shard

- Strength reduced to 50 from 55.

 

Darksteel Titan

- Agility increased to 25 from 20.

- Forged Metals 2 Unique Weapon Damage reduction increased to 16% from 12%.

 

Duran's Buckler/Machette/Pendant

- Health reduced to 75 from 80.

 

Emerald Lotus

- Health reduced to 350 from 450.

 

Emerald Mox

- Health reduced to 150 from 200.

- Price reduced to 400 from 475.

 

Energy Capsule

- Now dispels only from taking damage from enemy heroes instead of damage from any enemy.

- Regenerates amount over 40 seconds from 20.

 

Everthirst

- Health reduced to 350 from 450.

 

Explosive Retrofit

- Unique AoE increased to 3u radius from 2.5u.

- Unique Scaling AoE Weapon Damage increased to 40% on Ranged heroes from 30% (Melee Still 60%). 

- Unique renamed to Meteora 2, overrides Predator Tusk' Meteora 1.

 

Eye of Amon

- Unique Weapon Speed and Movement Speed bonus changed to 25% and 15% respectively from 20%.

 

Force of Entropy

- Health reduced to 300 from 350.

- Weapon Damage increased to 40 from 35.

 

Frozen Cuirass

- Emerald Lotus component replaced with Fleshhammer; Now grants 55 Strength instead of 500 Health.

- Feedback 2 active duration increased to 3s from 2s.

- Price increased to 4100 from 4050.

 

Galactic Defender

- Active now grants 600 shields from 500.

 

Health Capsule

- Now dispels only from taking damage from enemy heroes instead of damage from any enemy.

- Regenerates amount over 40 seconds from 20.

 

Hive Symbiosis

- Stabilizer component replaced with Dominion Standard; Now grants 36 Strength and 15% Weapon Speed instead of 55 Primary Attribute.

- Unique renamed to Rally 3; Overrides Dominion Standard Rally 1 and Coat of Arms Rally 2.

- Unique Lifesteal and Spellvamp increased to 15% from 10%.

 

Hunter's Hatchet

- Health increased to 100 from 95.

 

Hunter's Knife

- Active True Damage increased to 200 (+25% Target Current Health) from 100 (+20% Target Current Health).

- Cooldown reduced to 24 from 25.

 

Ihan Crystal

- Crystallization unique Health per stack decreased to 50 from 60.

 

Korhal Vanguard

- Health reduced to 300 from 350.

- Active now grants 15% Physical Damage reduction from 20% Single Target Damage reduction.

 

Kura's Deathmask

- Enfeeble Unique now reduces targets Damage and Damage Resistance by 20% and 15% respectively for 4 seconds from only reducing their Damage by 20% for 4 seconds. (Note: This affects all target Physical and Spell damage output and damage resistance)

- Enfeeble Unique no longer steals 10% Spell Damage for 4 seconds.

- INT reduced to 65 from 70.

- Price increased to 4000 from 3850.

 

Lifetech Nanosuit

- Health reduced to 400 from 500.

- Heal reduced to 250 + (12% Max Health) over 6 seconds from 300 + (15% Max Health) over 6 seconds.

 

Melange (120; NEW!)

[Consume] Regenerate 400 Health over 8 seconds. This effect is removed if damage is taken from Enemy heroes.

 

Mobius Coil

- Price increased to 550 from 500.

 

Mossberg Taser

- Feedback 1 active duration increased to 3s from 2s.

 

Naix Claw

- Active Lifesteal bonus decreased to 80% from 100%.

 

Nitrogen Retrofit

- Health reduced to 450 from 550.

 

Omniscience

- Health reduced to 550 from 650.

 

Organic Carapace

- Strength increased to 55 from 45.

- Health reduced to 450 from 550.

 

Powerstone

- Health decreased to 250 from 275.

- Energy decreased to 200 from 225.

 

Phase Shield Alpha

- Active now grants 10% Physical Damage reduction from 10% Single Target Damage reduction.

 

Phase Shield Beta

- Active now grants 10% Spell Damage reduction from 10% AoE Damage reduction.

 

Photodeviator

- True Cloak changed to Cloak.

- Cooldown increased to 40s from 24s.

- Armor and Spell Armor stats reduced to 16 from 20.

 

Predator Tusk

- Unique Scaling AoE Weapon Damage increased to 40% on Ranged heroes from 30% (Melee Still 60%). 

 

Retribution's Edge

- Weapon Damage increased to 65 from 60.

 

Schrodinger's Lockbox

- INT increased to 70 from 65.

 

Shinobi Style

- Active Scaling Physical Damage increased to 50% AGI from 25% AGI.

 

Spell Buffer

- Health reduced to 300 from 350.

- Active now grants 15% Spell Damage reduction from 20% AoE Damage reduction.

 

Spirit Containment Vessel

- Unique True Damage bonus increased to 40% from 35%.

 

Superheated Mantle

- Health reduced to 375 from 480.

- Armor increased to 20 from 18.

 

Sword Breaker

- Health reduced to 250 from 300.

- Armor reduced to 18 from 20.

 

Syrus Codex

- Now grants +16% Experience fro 10%.

 

Tea Extract

- Armor and Spell Armor reduced from 12 to 9.

 

Tenderizer

- Armor reduced to 20 from 22.

 

Tetragrammaton

- Stabilizer component replaced with 2x Time Gem.

 

Time Gem (750; NEW!)

[Consume] User gains +5% Timescale, +10% Weapon Speed and +10% Cooldown Reduction for 8 minutes.

 

Vibranium Shield

- Active now grants 300 shields from 400.

 

Xel-naga Cuirass

- Armor reduced to 16 from 18. 

 

Heroes 

Anthrax

R - 'Sorrow' Debuff now doubles any True Damage targets receive, instead of amplifying Physical and Spell Damage types by 20%. (Note: Anthrax's heroic causes him to deal additional True Damage, the debuff will amplify this bonus true damage for example, but it won't amplify any other type of damage dealt to targets.)

 

Biotron

HP - Infected Civilians no longer have 50% AoE Damage Resistance.

- Base Physical Damage reduced to 8 from 10.

- Slow per stack decreased to 12% from 15%. Stack count increased to 5 from 4.

R - While active, Infected Civilians now also gain 50% Damage Resistance and 50% Weapon Speed.

- Cast range reduced to 6 from 8.

 

Brine

HP - Scaling Spell Damage increased to 10% Target Current Health from 9%.

Q - Duration increased to 5s from 4s.

E - Scaling Spell Damage changed to 12.5% Target Max Health from 25% Target Current Health.

 

Cain

W - Max stacks reduced to 4 from 5.

 

Chuck

Q - Removed Death model and sound for "Wall".

W - Cooldown rescaled to 16/14/12/10 from 8.

R - Updated sound.

 

Corona

HP - Ionize stacks are now removed by Debuff Immunity.

 

Crackling

Q - Scaling Physical Damage increased to 40% Weapon Damage from 30% Weapon Damage.

R - Camera no longer pans and follows Cracking upon activation (Note: Press "Space Bar" or double tap "1" if you lose track of your hero). 

 

Cyprus

- Updated '-alt' skin.

Q, E - Removed Death model and sound for Pillars.

 

Darpa

HP - Vendetta stacks now reduce Physical Resistance by 5% instead of reducing 5% Weapon Damage per stack.

Q - Energy cost reduced to 60/80/100/120 from 60/90/120/150.

W - Cooldown reduced to 22/18/14/10 from 24/20/16/12.

- Slow increased to 70% from 50%.

E - Now reduces Target Physical and Spell Damage by 10/15/20/25% instead of reducing Physical Resistance by 10/15/20/25%.

- At 3 Vendetta stacks, Silences and Disarms for 3s from Silences only for 4s.

- No longer slows by 20%.

- Added visual cue for Silence Effect.

R - Now only goes on cooldown after Darpa has completed his flight.

 

Dehaka

HP - All Essence Evolutions now halve the cooldowns of their respective abilities.

Q - Damage increased to 40/70/100/130 (+75% INT) from 40/65/90/115 (+60% INT)

- Cooldown set to 20 from 22/20/18/16.

- Current Health cost increased to 15% from 10%.

E - Scaling Spell Damage increased to 75% STR from 60%.

- Cooldown set to 20 from 20/18/16/14.

- Current Health cost increased to 15% from 10%.

R - Cooldown set to 120 from 120/90/60.

- Tooltip now displays the correct base spell damage values (Note: Previously, it stated 125/175/225, but it was dealing 150/225/300).

 

Drake

Q - Cooldown set to 24 from 26/25/24/23.

- Cooldown reduction for successfully hitting enemy heroes increased to 12s from 10s.

W - Spell Damage AoE reduced to 2.5u radius from 3u.

- Movement Speed bonus rescaled to 4/6/8/10% from 10%.

E - Spell Damage changed to 10/20/30/40 + (10% STR) for 3 seconds from 10/20/30/40 for 4 seconds.

- Spell Damage AoE reduced to 3.5u from 4u.

R - Max Health and Energy Regeneration per second reduced to 4/5/6% from 7%.

 

Dustin

Q - Updated sound and visuals.

 

Erekul

- Updated '-alt2' skin.

- Bleed Damage Type changed from Physical to True Damage.

- Scaling Damage changed to (2.5% Missing Health) True Damage per unit of distance traveled from (15% Weapon Damage) + (1.5% Missing Health) Physical Damage per unit of distance traveled.

W - Scaling Physical Damage increased to (40% Weapon Damage) from (35% Weapon Damage)

R - Root effect no longer disarms target (only Silences).

- Bleed does 3x damage for 10s to Enemy heroes recently 'Eviscerated' from 2x damage.

- Cooldown rescaled to 90/70/50 from 120/90/60.

 

King

W - Merc Marines timed life reduced to 25s from 30s.

R - Cooldown rescaled to 150/130/110 from 120.

 

Maar

Q (Aura Liberation) - Cooldown reduced to 3 from 25.

W/E - Energy cost decreased to 40/50/60/70 (+3% Max Energy) from 50/60/70/80 (+3% Max Energy).

WE (Sap) - Spell Damage increased to 20% Current Health + 80% INT from 10% Current Health + 50% INT.

- Cooldown increased to 9 from 3.

- Cast range reduced to 5 from 7.

EE (Frost Wave) - Slow decays over 5 seconds from 4

EEE (Ki Burst) - Movement Speed bonus increased to 25% for 4s from 15%.

EEW/WWE (Savior Aura/Vanguard Aura) - Auras duration increased to 10s from 9s.
 

Micro

W - Tossed enemy now takes an additional 25% Spell Damage from 20%.

R - Strength bonus decreased to 25/50/75 from 30/60/90.

 

Narud

HP (Passive) - Duration increased to 10s from 8s.

 

Nova

W - Critical Chance Stack cooldown increased to 8s per stack from 6s.

 

Null

Q - Scaling Spell Damage decreased to 20% INT from 25% INT.

E - Scaling Spell Damage increased to 30% INT from 25% INT.

- Fixed the stuttering sound effect.

 

Pyro

W - Spell Damage decreased to 12/24/36/48 (+15% INT) from 16/32/48/64 (+20% INT)

- Cooldown set to 24 from 24/22/20/18.

 

Queen

- Updated '-alt2' skin (Timmah!).

E - Initial reveal time increased to 3.5s from 2.5s.

- Charge cooldown increased to 60s from 50s.

- Base bounty increased to 48 from 40.

 

Rancor

W - AoE increased to 12u from 10u.

R - Updated sound.

 

Ravager

HP - Gains a stack of Abyss every 0.5s from 1s (Note: 2.5s to Max stacks from 5s).

Q - Abyss Stack Range bonus reduced to 2.5u from 3.5u (Max range to 18u from 23u).

W - Base range increased to 6.5u from 5.5u.

R - Fear duration rescaled to 1.75/2.5/3.25s from 1.75/2.25/2.75s.

 

Roulette

Q - Scaling Spell Damage per second reduced to 30% INT from 40% INT.

- Bonus Scaling Spell Damage increased to 60% INT from 50% INT.

W - Aura AoE rescaled from 3.5u radius to 3/3.5/4/4.5u.

E - Scaling Spell Damage decreased to 30% INT from 40% INT.

- Updated sound.

R - Scaling Spell Damage increased to 60% INT from 40% INT.

- Energy cost increased to 200/325/450 from 200/300/400.

- Updated sound.

 

Summers

E (Proximity Mine) - Slow/Reveal duration increased to 3s from 2s.

- Cooldown rescaled to 16/14/12/10 from 24/20/16/12.

R (Fix) - Now animates correctly and decloaks before explosion when using the "Pinpoint Detonate" sub-ability.

 

Tosh

Q - Base Spell Damage per second increased to 25/40/55/70 from 12/24/36/48.

 

Vergil

Q - Energy cost reduced to 60/80/100/120 from 70/90/110/130.

W - Debuff now also reduces target Spell Damage by 6/10/14/18%.

R - Scaling Spell Damage per Dimension Slash changed to 3% Target Max Energy from 3% Target Current Energy.

 

Vorpal

- Updated model.

Q - Damage scaling/Damage type changed to 100% STR/Physical Damage from 80% INT/Spell Damage. 

W - Passive Sphere cooldown reduction increased to 15/12/9/6 from 16/14/12/10.

E - Damage scaling/Damage type changed to 75% INT/Spell Damage from 100% Weapon Damage/Physical Damage.

- Base damage rescaled to 60/90/120/150 from 30/70/110/150.

- Cast range rescaled to 8.5/9/9.5/10u from 9u.

R - Spell Damage scaling increased to 75% INT from 70%.

 

Warfield

- Autoattack now correctly animates (fix).

R - Debuff Duration reduced to 12s from 15.

Omg no more dps vorpal, now its int worpal time  (to me only)

INT Vorpal builds were always the preferred Vorpals. The Weapon Damage scaling made little sense in his kit.

The physical damage just came from switching the damage scaling and damage type of Q and E around. 

In the context of items like Atom Smasher and Contamination Shard working with physical damage, it also makes sense for the STR variation of Vorpal to resonate better with that damage type. The passive deals mixed damage I believe, so he could now really go either way STR or INT effectively.

Javelin was basically a skillshot auto attack. Physical damage + on hit. The change there means low early game damage, but better scaling with an int build. Q is an AoE dmg teleport with minor enemy displacement. The change to physical means it won't proc item effects like nitro, kuras, ancient rune etc. Also contam procs from on hit, so q will only proc ability use effects from power strike. It removes the QR full into wombo, significantly decreasing the reliable damage output since javelins get blocked by creeps during many fights. It also means that Tank vorpal got buffed since now his damage can scale on Q, whereas before hit damage output was limited to reflecting.

In summary, the change :

Replaced DPS vorpal with 'Battle Mage' Vorpal - Either way could have decent damage but very unreliable.

Nerfed INT vorpal - the most commonly played

Buffed Tank Vorpal - the OP way of playing it against squishy lower skilled players.

Correct, more or less. If Vorpal is meant to be played as an INT hero then perhaps he should become an INT hero and forego the benefits of having STR as his primary attribute.

There was a trade off, and the changes were intended to make Vorpal a more well rounded STR hero - a jack of both trades Physical and Spell damage but a master of neither. He can still deal a lot of damage from the wombo combo of Q into R. I don't see the harm in  changing Q to Spell Damage though, but I think it would tip the scale too much in favor of INT Vorpal again.

The only problem with INT build Vorpal was IMO that he was a STR hero, but he could do INT better than many INT heroes while still retaining the perks that come from his primary attribute.

We'll leave it as physical for now and see how it plays out.

 

On a different note, since everyone except tanks is noticeably squishier from the attribute changes a couple patches ago, we might have to do a general nerf to tanks' abilities' base damages.

Im still trying to understand why lifetech has debuff... if i want debuff I should get paralax... but now I ignore paralax and grab the better version of it that not only gives me debuff but heals as well... oh and it's cheaper too

Lifetech (Health + Spell Armor) - Debuff Immunity for 1.5s every 75s - Passive.

Parallax (Attributes)  - Debuff Immunity for 3s every 25 seconds - Passive.

Tetragrammaton (Primary Attribute + Weapon Damage) - Debuff (Spell) Immunity for 6s every 90s - Active.

Eternal Drive (Energy + Armor) - Debuff Immunity for 3s every 60s - Active.

All heroes may need debuff immunity, but not all heroes should be forced to buy Parallax singularly for this. Previously, Parallax had a monopoly of sorts on this effect, and it still potentially gives the most debuff immunity per minute out of all 4 items.

There are plenty of debuffs in AoS, some more variety to counter these seemed necessary. Different heroes will choose different items based on their circumstances and preferred builds.
