    Here's my main issue with this. While you may have some valid points for why it could be a benefit to someone such as yourself, it would without a doubt have more of a negative impact to the community as a whole than it would a positive impact. There are a few reasons for this: 1. As addressed before: people leaving if they don't random a hero that they want. In addition, even if we have the capacity to create a blacklist, I'd rather not do so since it would cause even more harm to the game. Lastly, I think you vastly overstate the degree to which the community has changed. I guarantee it would still be a big problem. 2. I think that giving a reward for choosing a random hero is a bad mechanic in and of itself. It immediately imbalances the game from the moment someone chooses their hero, something that I would prefer not to do. 3. Honestly, if someone is unwilling to try playing a new hero without having an advantage going in, I think they're not likely to have been playing a game with such a high skill floor for very long in the first place. I also think it makes the game extremely imbalanced if one gets that boost on a hero that they're familiar with already. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I acknowledge that you've got some justification for requesting this feature, but while it may be the case that you yourself won't abuse it - can you truly say that you think it would be a net benefit to the community as a whole to implement a change like this? If so, why?

    Honestly I think you are all overlooking a huge problem here. If you have such an advantage that you have all T1 and T2 towers before the enemy team, you have an absolutely MASSIVE advantage in both gold and map pressure. If you're unable to close out a game where you're that far ahead before the other team can end the game in one push, it's very clearly your fault and you deserve to lose that game. A lot of the time I see people just running around the map without any plan and not working together. When teams follow a shotcaller, (what Sphyx refers to as a general, and said that only Whale and I really act as) most games where we get a decent lead early on snowball out of control pretty fast and games where we're behind can be turned around via vision control, picks, and map transitions. Most people just don't do that. I think it's one thing to argue that it's impossible to do something like that in a given scenario, but from what I've seen (and I admit maybe there just aren't very high quality inhouses any more) people just don't play the game well anymore which it what I attribute that to.

    This is also something to keep in mind. Whale's changes a bit back to bounties can create bounties of 800 minerals for someone on a killstreak versus like 80 minerals on someone dying like crazy.

    That said, we were talking about reducing the damage by quite a bit and giving Psionic more orbs to control so Psionic players would need to position them more effectively to maximize damage output.

    Idk i feel like people just aren't good at playing against Psionic. I haven't ad any trouble laning against one...it's not that hard to dodge the orbs and if you don't stand by minions they have to choose between trying to hit you and pushing.

    Don't be obnoxious, I was responding to Quistmann's comment regarding his heroic passive and his E. We're perfectly willing to take a look at his bola, as I believe it (in addition to the debuff immunity from Q) is pretty ridiculous...as I've stated before. I doubt we'll change it to a grapple as the Dehaka rework has a grapple mechanic, and I don't think it fits with the way Boros' design currently functions. As an aside, however, from my experience with inhouses, you're all pretty bad at dodging bolas. He doesn't appear to be nearly as absurd as you make it seem. I find that the combination of hyperbole, anecdotal evidence, and non sequiturs in most of your balance posts makes it very difficult to take them seriously from a position of trying to make a balanced game. That's not to say that your suggestions aren't helpful in showing us which heroes need to be tuned, because they do, and I appreciate that greatly. If you could use numbers and tell me what the issues are instead of just stating it's ridiculous without really identifying why, that would be a great help to us and make us FAR more likelt to implement your suggestions. e.g. One way you could say what I think you're getting at is that boros' bola cooldown at max rank is 11 seconds (I think, haven't checked as I'm about to go to sleep), reduced to 5.5 if you hit even an allied hero or creep, and with a little cooldown reduction and energy regeneration plus the fact that the game clock runs faster than realtime, a boros in a sieging position gets to throw out a bola with an approximate 2-3 second cooldown at pretty much zero risk to himself. That's problematic because it means that if a team with a boros gets ahead, it's nearly impossible to defend against them as they'll force you too far back to defend your towers while simultaneously being out of range for most initiation. Not only that, but even if Boros mispositions, he has spell immunity and debuff immunity as an added bonus, and his W deals an absurd amount of single target damage for the utility it offers. All in all, Boros' kit is just too strong because he's nigh impossible to start a fight against, but also has immense pick potential. ^^ That would be a post that I could respond to in a useful manner. Also, I have no idea what this sentence means: "Also, the animation on this thing is frustrating to say the least. Bola is going straight, you are going at a slight angle away from it for 2 seconds boom, all of a sudden starts pulling you."

    There's pretty much a 0% chance I'm willing to buff boros. I'd be willing to take a look at moving some power from his Q to his heroic passive and his E (possibly changing them completely), but I'd rather do that than mess around with the numbers. He doesn't seem overbearingly strong, so I'm not super concerned about him balance-wise, though I find his kit a little (read: a lot) obnoxious.

    Not played much: Vorpal: Pretty boring hero as is. Somewhat of an all-around type hero but someone else does everything better. Darpa: Nerfed to shap by virtue of being too strong for a long time. The delayed auto-attack is also HUGE for darpa because he relies on applying vendetta stacks. Grunty: People are bad at him from what I've seen. I think he's in a decent place. Corona: Nobody can play him well and he was autobanned for a long time so not a ton of games. Egon: not sure since the rework, haven't seen him. Healers just aren't too meta right now aside from erekul and yig but they're for other reasons. Kura's death mask is too hard of a counter imo. Cyprus: Dumb hero so nerfed a lot, cast time on ult was a massive power drop. We have some changed coming out before long that should help with this. Toxi: Also a dumb hero so also nerfed a lot. I'll probably take a look at this now that you mention it. Lurker: too immobile and vulnerable to be easily played in an inhouse setting. Lots of play: Cain: Guarantees silly damage even when tanky because of w doing current hp (I'm against that change from a while back). Also an aoe stun. Null: A good null is scary, but a god-awful null is still useful. Just straight up too much utility. I'm thinking of lower base MS and changing the passive because it's also just stupid. Boros: Has a pull and debuff immunity, which are in my opinion the two strongest abilities in the game at present. Combine that with near-invulnerability from his ult, and a powerful damage steroid. I feel like he's just a strong hero that isn't quite strong enough to be permabanned like a lot of others. We should also try to keep track of bans. I find that to be an important stat as well.

    In general I'd like to work more towards tanks having the ability to disrupt fights and protect their carries rather than making it a game of "who can one-shot the other team's carry first" like with good ol' Balrog. Drake is, however, one of those heroes that will always be relevant just by virtue of having a pull, much like how Boros has always been somewhat of a staple in SotIS and AoS.

    It's not as though we don't have the power to lower energy costs at early levels. Something that just might possibly work is, I dunno, telling the devs things outright instead of being so sassy about it. How about saying something like, "In testing I was only able to use flight-mode Q twice without being out of energy, I think that's a problem for X reason, maybe we should consider lowering the Energy cost at early levels" instead of telling us that when using a terrible build you might be able to cast the ability frequently. Also...if Starscream only has one ability that deals damage, but it deals a pretty absurd amount of damage early on a la his land-mode Q, it might be okay for him to only be able to use it twice so that you can't spam an ability that will basically one-shot heroes from 70% hp during that time in the game. What Energy values would you recommend for Starscream (both land and flight mode).

    Saw it. It's unacceptable. If you want something changed, try providing feedback that is useful rather than whining, don't make your threads "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE X." That's a pretty easy way to get people not to take you seriously.
  24. Guys really, I can appreciate that sometimes game mechanics frustrate you, but threads like this aren't helpful to us in any way. Please give us some context and offer some alternative suggestions.
